Any Heads up on OFB and possible hacks conflics yet? A few days before NL was released, Maxiod Tom was nice enough to make the rounds and let us all know that there would be some conflicts with certain hacks. As a precaution, I always remove my hacks folder when I install a new EP, but I was just wondering if there had been any advanced talk about changes in the game code that would render certain hacks usless or just create glitches in game play?
It'll be safe to assume that hacks that affect critical object menus (eg: phones) will be come unworkable ... so thPescado phone hack is first out the window. Also with the advent of business there'll be a shed-load of new social interactions from hiring and firing to buying selling and training so all hacks that have anything to do with social interactions (most of them) will need individual testing to see how they stand up. As with, Kristal, I'll just remove my awesomeness folder from my downloads folder and try going cold turkey for a day or two until more is know. I'll test out a few itmes myself (eg the Pescado's lot synchroniser because I am now irretrievably hooked on it with 8 families in glorious synch ... never before I have so effortlessly managed so many sims...).
I haven't heard of anything specific. I know that some of the hacks won't be affected, but Mirelly is right that there will be some which are definitely affected because they've done major things to the programs. (Like the phone hacks, as she said.) From what I've heard, some are ok (like Merola64's multipainting is probably going to be ok.) I have a lot fewer hacks than I used to use. Of course, some of that is because Maxis made them unnecessary (like the no cheering hack.) I'm pretty much limited to the commskilling, novelprogress, dailygardener, notownieregen and (the only NonPescado mod) no jealousy at all. But then, I also have the "moviemaking" object (invisible ceiling lights) and Merola's multipainting. I'm going to play in another neighborhood which is not hack dependent until some of the things (like the daily gardener, Merola's painting and the invisible ceiling light) settle out. I figure that if I just spend a bunch of time making new lots with all the new building "supplies" that will keep me busy for a while!
There is no OFB. Speculation on conflicts with nonexistent products is a relatively pointless exercise.

JMP can say anything he wants to, Josh, as long as he keeps making my game more fun. Just smile and nod. I have a huge list of hacks, which is why I call myself the cheat queen. Most of them are from MATY, and I also use the InSiminator, Merola's Multipainting, and Inge's teleporter. They are installed on almost every lot. I always get nervous around EP time, because it always seems that I can exect my neighborhood to become the perverbial "ball of fire visible from space" when a new one is due. Of course, it's not the EP's fault, it's mine. But this time I've been very careful, and worked really hard to keep my neighborhood's population down and to not do anything stupid with SimsPE or with the testing cheat. So, I'm hoping and praying that my neighborhood will survive OFB. I have several sims who want to own their own buisiness, they just don't know it yet. (sigh) I'm going to hate playing without my hacks, even for just a short time. I'm too dependent on them, I know. I talked to the manager of my local GameStop last night. I had taken Allen in there to price PS2's and to trade in some games, and I asked him when I could expect to pick up my pre-order. He told me March 1st or 2nd. I told him I was kicking myself for not ordering online, because with online I get it on the 29th, and get the promo. He said he'd make some phone calls and make sure I got the promo, because I was his best Sims customer, and he didn't want me kicking myself.
Isn't the promo the mascot outfit? That's all that I've heard about anyway. I haven't seen what the mascot will be though. Ruth

I've never been wrong about it. Each and every time you've been blathering about some new expansion pack, it hasn't existed. Funny how once something *DOES* exist, you lose interest in it, though. Maybe if you spent more time focussing on things that *DO* exist instead of things that don't...
When I pre-ordered the game at Gamestop they gave me a little flyer with a code on it so I can download the special mascot suit.
