Baby's Birthday Not seen this discussed before ... It can be an annoying time (for the player) as only one sim, not always a parent, will get the notion to "Help with brithday" ... of course this cannot be ordered (which is dumb as the "Grow Up" option can be for the later stages). Worse ... if the baby is in the cot the helper first has to get them out which causes the help with birthday order to abort (even with JMP's mod!) So the only way, without a cake, is to have everyone in the house doing something they won't jump out of and then get one sim to put the baby on the floor at about 17:50. At around 18:01-18:10 one of the sims will jump out of their activity and run to throw baby in air to grow it up ... maybe I've been missing something though????
I wasn't aware I had a mod which specifically addressed baby birthdays. I usually use the cake the day before, because if you use the cake, you can grow the baby a day early, which gives you that much more of a head start on getting this nuisance over and done with and getting the baby to an age where it's capable of actually doing something. The other irritance is the way everyone seems to want to point and shout anytime somebody, even a total stranger, grows up. Big frickin' deal. I thought the entire point of choosing the self "Grow Up" option was to NOT make a big deal out of it. Fortunately, this nuisance can be nipped in the bud through strategic use of queue-spamming and cancelling, but you're screwed if it moves to the first on the list, because at that point, even cancelling will result in your sim standing there like an idiot for half an hour.
