Can someone help me? I'm new.

Hey, it's me again! I have a few more questions:

Can Sims go shopping? If so, do you get to take them to a store?

Is there a "love bed" like in the Sims1?

Can Sims get sick?:fever: Can they die from it?

Do the seasons change? :sun: :cold:

Do they celebrate holidays, like Christmas or Chanukkah? Does Santa come?:santahat:

What is the Social Bunny? :bunny: Can a Sim have a relationship with one?

Can Sims give each other presents? :present:

Can a Sim have a fistfight with a Sim within it's household?:box: Does it get an injury? :fight:

Can teenagers have children? Can they live without parents?

Can Sims have pets? :whitekitty: :bunny:

Does it ever rain? :raincloud: Do you have to have clouds for it to do this? :fluffy:

Can you watch your Sims at school?

Do Sims celebrate birthdays? :birthday: Can they get drunk? :champagne:

These are all the questions I have for now! Please help me!

    1. Sims can go shopping. Go to the phone and choose call taxi. If you are using a Maxis negiborhood choose ones that look like i don't know a stores name. If it's your own negiborhood you have to build it yourself.

    2. There is no lovebed in TS2

    3. Sims can get sick. If they walk around cockroaches, eat spoiled food, or interact with a sick sim. If you don't give them enough rest they can die.

    4. Seasons don't change. It is always summer.

    5. Sims can and can't celebrate holidays. They're are certain objects that you can download that kind of simulate holidays.

6.The social bunny is a little pink bunny that appears if your sim's social mood hits rock bottom. You can have a relationship with them.

    7. Not really no.

    8. If a sim is angry with another sim they can fight. No they will not get injuries from it.

    9. Teens can't have kids without certain mods. Sorry I don't know the answer to the second question.

    10. As of yet sims can't have pets

    11. No rain, no clouds, no weather.

    12. You can't watch your kids at work or school.

    13. If a sims is about to transition from one life stage to another you can have a birthday by buying a cake from the misc-party section from buy mode. They go to the phone and select throw party- birthday party.
Although there are "bars" in the sims 2 you drink juice not alcohol.

    Hope this helps.

Teens can live without parents but you can't create a family with a teen as the head of the house. Something has to happen with the parents, basically they have to either move out or die.

technically all double beds are "love" beds however the "Love" hottub encourages... ummm... love???

And the Christmas Party Pack lets you celebrate crimbo, but apparently that's real buggy. Also, I think teens can live without parents if Mum and Dad die or move out.

Have mercy on another newbie! im so glad i have found these forums i am a complete Newbie. I try to buy food via phone but the box doesn't have a tick when they try. I have tried to take them shopping, but the same thing happens... My poor sims are starving to death and i don't know how to feed them

I'm afraid I don't know the technical solution to that glitch, but the quick solution to keep them from starving is to buy another refrigerator.

Ctrl-Shift-C opens the cheat window. Type in kaching. That will give you 1,000 more simoleons, enough to buy a refrigerator. Type it in again if you need more money.

Some here agree that using a cheat to solve a glitch problem or error isn't technically cheating.

But you still need to find out what's causing the problem. I don't suppose you've downloaded anything into the game recently? Sometimes downloads cause all kinds of problems in a game, particularly downloaded lots and houses. They frequently have 'rats' in the cellar. ;)

Is this happening in your other houses too or just that one? If its just that house and buying a new fridge doesn't fix it then the best solution would be to move them out and into a different house.

It's worth mentioning that you won't get an option to accept an order until you drag the slider up to fill up the fridge. If the fridge is really empty it can be tricky to grab hold of the blue bar to pull it up. Hmmm ... wonders if there's another way I forgot about ...

I'm still not back in Penn Vale ... darn it. Been fixing the mess I made adding a whole pile downloads yesterday ... I had townies wandering around with two tone bodies due to my missing some replacement default skins. While I was clearing out my mega folder I alo found a package from GunMod ... I think it was his very early neighborhood camera fix and I never got around to updating it  Wotta dink!

more explained answers for SOME of the questions.

Is there a "love bed" like in the Sims1?

All of the beds that fit two people can be considered as "love beds" because they allow adult sims to woo hoo or make a baby (also they're allowed to cuddle and make out too).

Can Sims get sick?:fever: Can they die from it?
yes they can, basically if you have the rest a lot and take daily showers, you'll be okay.

Do the seasons change? :sun: :cold: not in the original sims 2. But if you buy the seasons expansion pack - yes. There are four seasons (just like real life). winter, summer, spring, & fall.

Do they celebrate holidays, like Christmas or Chanukkah? Does Santa come? They celebrate christmas with the Holiday Stuff expansion pack. Its not really an expansion pack. It just adds more stuff to your already packed sims 2. lol

Can Sims give each other presents? :present:

In the sims 2 Seasons expansion pack, yes they can give eachother gifts (which are the items in their inventory)

Can teenagers have children? Can they live without parents?

If you download your own hack to have the teenagers give birth to kids, then yes they can have children. But the original sims 2 nor any of its expansions allows a teenager to have a baby much less "woo hoo". And again there is a hack that allows a teen to move out and live on their own, but once again the original sims 2 game only allows a teen to live on their own when their parents die.

Can Sims have pets? :whitekitty: :bunny:

yes they can with the sims 2 Pets expansion.

Does it ever rain? :raincloud: Do you have to have clouds for it to do this? :fluffy:

In the original sims 2 game without any expansions, no. If you buy the seasons expansion, yes. You will see rain, you will see thunder and you will see lightening. Also - you can download a rain/weather hack where it will rain in the game. But sometimes those rain hacks mess up your game and sometimes because of a glitch, it will rain inside the house - so I really dont encourage you to download the weather hack. Plus those hacks have it raining all day until you exit the lot (without saving nonetheless cause otherwise it will mess with your game). Atleast with the sims 2 Seasons, the rain actually clears up to a sunny day. =) And its safe to save the game.

    hope it helps you =)
