    Can't run it

    Hi! It's me again!

So, I open the game, it loads, but it won't enter a lot... It starts loading and after an eternity it still loads... I have to turn off the pc in order to exit the game and that takes an eternity too. The problem started when my pathetic excuse of a brother went and opened the task manager to minimize the game and then left-clicked to exit... See, he was too bored to wait for it to save and exit normally... It was a little bit slow, probably due to my patheticaly small hard disk...

    So, my system specs are:
    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 2.66 GHz
    Memory: 512MB RAM
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
Free Hard Disk space: 5.13 GB
Total Hard Disk space: 38.2 GB :)mad::mad::mad:)
    DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Display Adapter (Graphic/Video Card) Name & Model Number: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
    Display Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll
    Version Number:6.14.0010.9371 (English)
    Date: 22/10/2006 13:22:00
Approximate Total Video Memory: 64 MB
Game Detail: Sims 2 (CD version), Pets, OFB

It's the tiny Hard Disk isn't, it?:(

IMHO here lies your Problem....with so little RAM (and most of it used by Windows itself) your computer constantly has to swap in and out to replace physical memory with virtual memory. What you could do (besides buy/install at least 1GB:( set the virtual memory to a fixed amount to avoid additional lags, caused by constantly adapting the VM-size
    cut down on custom content
keep your "hoods", houses and families small (I really mean it ;)
try to disable as many background tasks as possible
set your graphics options/screen resolution as small as possible
and if that all doesn't help enough, leave the extension packs alone and just play the base Sims 2 game
