Chair of Death and moving without losing! Hello! A while back at a party, dear Nina Caliente was sitting in a chair at the chess table. She became stuck. No matter what I did she was unable to become unstuck. Of course she then wet herself TWICE and died! For crying out loud. Not only did my Sim lose a lover but I can't remove the chair! It says it is in use. This greatly hampers furniture arranging. How can I get rid of this chair? Also, my Sim has achieved "mad scientist" (she's also a tramp wanting to have woohoo in public) and I'd like to move her out into the "house on the hill". However, the move option says she'll lose everything! I don't wanna lose everything! I wanna take her Pancaktek t.v and everything else! Is it possible to move without losing items?
To get rid of the chair press "ctrl+shift+c" and then type "moveobjects on". This enables you to move anything anywhere, pretty much, as well as to delete anything, including Sims and things that they are using (or supposedly using). As the the moving without losing thing, you can move occupied lots and houses around on the neighbourhood screen, I have recently found, in the same way you move unoccupied lots and houses around. This might only work with moveobjects on, but I'm not sure. Anyway, this might enable you to work around this problem - move your existing house to "the hill," and then redesign the house so it looks like the one that was originally on "the hill".
A similar occurence happened with one of my objects too although it didn't kill anybody. I have a desk that can't be moved on and says it is in use as well. It is also "the one desk".. What happens if you use the moveobjectson on the one desk? Does the next bought table become the one table?
Moveobjects should allow you to delete the chair, because it is only limited by objects with other objects in them (dinner plates with food, ovens with food) and not usage by a Sim. To move the house, just do what Zootyzoot said - as long as the terrain isn't radically different (e.g. sharp steep land to flat land) in the two locations, you should have no problem plopping it down somewhere new. It does not give an option to rename the lot however, which can be a bit annoying of the name of the lot is tailored for a specific part of the neighborhood.
