    Cool Article About Nightlife!!

Okay, I'm starting to feel those excited twitches again, wait, let me calm them. (remember, dummy, the hard time you had after Uni came out? Remember loosing all your families and having to start over from scratch? Sadness)
Okay, I feel myself again. :)

Here, let me make y'all tingle, too. :D
    Inventory:
One other popular feature of the Sims 1 was the inventory, with which Sims were able to bring home presents, awards, and other things. But this time it's a lot better. Rather than just allowing a few things in there, you can put any object - including gravestones, awards, rewards and more - in the inventory and drag it along. You can have your Sims move house, and they'll carry everything with you. This way you can save aspiration and career rewards, for example, and take them to your new home. The inventory is as big as you want, and you can put a whole bunch of objects in there.

Oh boy, thats a godsend for people who don't want to lose tombstones, aspiration and career rewards, but I wonder how it may affect a family's networth when they move out.

Eh, more propaganda. I strongly suspect this "inventory" somehow manages to be not as cool as it sounds, and while I'm sure you can drag your tombstones around, it's still not quite going to allow you to easily make your own graveyard. Working on it, though.

I like the sound of the inventory ... maybe if you're lucky, you can drag your paintings off with you if the lot gets corrupted (which I've had 3 or 4 times) or any other sillyness occurs ... so if you rebuild you put back those paintings... :p

But as Pescado says, you never know how exactly it might work until you actually get the EP. I thought that the dorms would be quite a bit different from the way they actually work going on all the hype and media around TS2U, but still I enjoy the current way it plays.

Argh. The first of my questions has been answered. There will be no ramps to get cars up onto a foundation. This is a very sad omission and I am annoyed by it. Mixing foundations and foundationless housing produces bad frond door conflicts with visitors and delivery sims getting all bollixed up and, too, the game display mode get all confused in view the house levels because the ground floor (on the foundation) will not be visible through the garage walls which are regarded as beging a level below. So where you have a toilet, say, that you have to swing slightly clockwise to see past the shower so you can click on it ... yeah? Well in future you also gonna have to allow for seeing past the garage as well or just forget foundations altogether or just don't bother with a garage at all.

I'm still hoping to find half landings for connecting stairs to give us more options for stairs inside buildings. Doing it with boolprop is a poor substitue and it makes a mess of the walls.

Memo to Maxis: ramps and half landings please! :)

What I wish is that the driveway didn't end in a garage door. Can I park my car on a different type of surface, like a custom gravel terrain?

Because, frankly, I don't like garages. I think they detract from the beauty of a house, and I don't want to give up the real estate to have one. (Stomp foot.)

I don't think the driveway is required to end in a garage door. I think it may very well be entirely possible for it to just end, and you just park on the driveway.

Why is it that you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway, anyway?

thats another thing im curious about. wll nightlife add needed items such as garage doors and car related bits to keep your hot red sports car with the flames down the sides in tip-top shape? or is this still a "wait-and-see" phase right now?

    meh. still, cant wait. :D

Just thought I read that in the article. Could have been reading too fast ...

LOL! I had a whole list of those once but it's past me bedtime and I'm too nackered to think of any.

Knackered, SBW? I am impressed and pleased to see British colloquialisms being used across the pond :D

Looks fake to me. It's the exact same thing we've seen in several "independent" videos. I refuse to believe that several different people would wind up with exactly the same scenes, unless those scenes are obviously faked and there is no game at all. Given that there *IS*, in fact, no game at all, and there isn't due to *BE* a game for NEARLY THREE MONTHS, and that the game is, at best, half-finished and nonfunctional, it is clear to me that these screenshots are entirely staged, and the scenes depicted within do not correspond to any actual game, being entirely fake like those ceiling fan shots from original TS2. FAKE! All LIES and PROPAGANDA!

I can assure you the event at EAUK is legit. Plus how can you account for Tim's voice in the background :p

I thought it was pretty clear that he hadn't even seen the Nic's vid, but we all know how much the old fishy funster likes to play the iconoclast. Now we see the wisdom of the adage: look before you leap. JM saw "movie" and assumed that it meant the in game stuff.

Wonders which will now occur first, news of snowfall in Hell or Pescado's contrition :p

Well, speaking from someone who's entire gameplay revolves around developing relationship and breeding little sims just to see what they'll look like, I can say, I think I have a use for the whole "dating" aspect of Nightlife. :) I think my favorite EP for TS1 was "Hot Date." I think it will be great to make little clubs and such and have my Simmies hook up. :D
