EA Sims2 site problems? I had troubles with their site this weekend. Now I'm at work, so it could be the virus program and firewalls here, but is the Sims2 official site having a lot of technical problems? (I just wanted to check up on my video upload .)
Yes. The Maxoids haven't said what, but I was getting 404 messages all day Sunday and so far today. It will be up for a little bit, and then back to "404 Page not found." I really feel sorry for the Maxoids. As a SM we hear about what the Maxoids have to deal with (as Simmers complain to us and then we have to ask the Maxoids what is going on.) From the beginning, they never expected to need quite as much for the website as they have. It's continually getting bigger faster than ever expected. (They were going by TS1's website, which at its busiest was never as busy as the most quiet day on TS2.) And they also are continually trying out things that they think the Simmers want. (Often to the dismay of the SimMasters who go "oh my goodness! Look at the mess this created, as Simmers figure out ways of misusing the things that the Maxoids put in for our enjoyment, like signatures, font colors etc.) Hopefully they will have it stabilized soon. I put a "what's going on?" message on our admin board, but so far they've not responded about it, so the SMs are in the dark about the reasons for this time just like the Simmers.
Thank you. I was worried that I was doing something 'ignorant.' I'm just glad to know it's not me. I can easily believe they are swamped with activity. I'm not annoyed or angry with them, because it's not hard to imagine a lot of people on Christmas break logging in all at the same time. MTS2 can be really slow sometimes. So can the online store where we ordered Christmas presents. I wonder how many people around the world have access to the internet...a billion? More?
Had a minor discussion with a Maxoid directly. Mentioned something about the server failing all morning. It should be fixed by now
