Sure, :p the words are English but I'm still puzzled by the whole thing. Has anybody in this forum tried it out? I sort of understand about clothes, walls, floors, recolors, and meshes. I don't understand how JMP's university clock works but I trust his stuff.

I've read that sims who meditate eventually can teleport. Is there another way to teleport and is that what the "elevator" is doing?

I just downloaded it and will test it out and report back later tonight. From what I read, he based it on a staircase (so your sim will use it without being told to) but modded it so that your sim goes poof then shows up on the desired floor. I'm most interested in seeing if it speeds up sims' movement between floors. Especially in Uni where the sims always sim to trudge so slowly up and down stairs.

Particularly if you are sending them to do something they aren't keen on doing. :p I love those slumping shoulders and slow trudge up or down the stairs.

I just tried that teleport elevator...and I doubt if I ever use stairs again! I've spent the last 20 minutes having Mrs. Oldie zip up and down. I want one for my real world house! :D

I'm going to trust your judgement Werebear and give it a go, I had seen it a few times in the MTS2 site but was dubious about trying it out.

WAY COOL. So space age. I attach a couple of pictures. I have only tried it out in my testing neighborhood (Fate  ) so I don't know what would happen with a houseful of sims trying to get to dinner or to work. (Same as stairs I would imagine.) The "launching" pads come in about four or five colors and you can put a wall on three sides of it (only if you want to--the pad just takes up one floor tile and needs no wall or railing). I chose a railing because you can see the railing when in a cut-away view. Also, since I had chosen the wood launchpad I put a wood tile design under it. You can put a rug under it if you want. The sims know where it is and how to use it as if it were stairs, of course. Like stairs, too, you enter and exit facing in the same direction. This will affect placement. First picture, she enters, second picture, she exits one floor below.

Being a 1 tile object, I found corners to be a very practical placement without drastically changing the aesthetic of the room.

As to busy households, since it is based on a regular staircase it should have the same rules. The only difference being that the teleporter is instant, which means that you should see less foot stomping due to it being occupied. I'm going to have to try packing a room with sims and telling them all to go downstairs at once just to see the commotion. It would be kinda neat if they worked like the teleporters from "DOOM"...where two players attempting to use it at the same time caused one of them to explode. Wonder what color the ghost would be? ;)
