Fire wont stop burning! I was playing the Tri-Var sororitiy house in the University EP and I decided to let them have a toga party. I bought them a bonfire but when I wanted the part to be over the bonfire kept burning. The only options when you clicked it were "tell stories" and "roast marshmellows":(. I got frusturated and deleted the bonfire thinking this would solve my problem. To my amazement the fire did not go away. I had one of the girls call the fire department. When the fireman arrived I thought he was going to extinguish the fire but he walked right through it and proceeded to lecture my sim about making false calls. I attempted to exit without saving but when I came back the fire was still there (I must have saved before I realized I was going to have a problem). I tried to put another bonfire over it and the only thing that happened was that that bonfire burned out completely. I even tried to delete the fire and it didnt work! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. A fire on my lot looks awkward when my sims are walking through it.
do you try to delete it with the cheat "moveobjects on" ? i use to have a similar problem but with my stove, it was always cooking a meal and my sims couldn't go get it and i could't delete the stove cause it was being used, so i used "moveobjects on" and deleted the stove
It's a variant of the emitter bug and it can be a tough one to eradicate. Try Pescado's stuck object remover. (after downloading & installing buy it from miscellaneous >> miscellaneous and plop it in the burning and see what happens. Get it here stuckobjremover.zip
I had this problem as well ages ago but since it wasn't a very big fire I learned to live with it. However, I think the fire was gone when I played the game again. So exited the game and shut off your computer and play the game later. It could help. What have we learned here today? Never try to delete things that are burning. I guess you should have just let the fire burn out. If you go back to your game when you last saved it, is the bonfire still there or are you having the "fire floating in the air problem"? 'Cause if the fire is burning on the bonfire then you should just let it burn 'til the fire dies. It can take a while but your sims can walk away from it and I don't think there's such a risk of the fire spreading. :winks: Hope this helped a bit.
... Or you could just do what Mirelly said. (I wrote my post while Mirelly posted hers so I didn't see it before it was too late.) :silly:
