    Frustrated with BodyShop CAS

So, I finally figured out how to make a sim in Body Shop as opposed to in game, which is how I've made all of my sims to date. I love the more enhanced tools you can use in Body Shop, and was really happy with the sims I made ... until I tried to import them to the game.

Just to experiment, I decided to make Angel, Buffy and Spike. They looked really good in CAS, but in game only Spike looked OK and his nose was nothing like I'd created. Angel looked like an ugly thug and Buffy was just freaky, with HUGE eyes. I played with her eyes a lot, because they're one of her defining features, and they looked just fine in Body Shop. But in game she looked like an alien.

What gives? Has anyone else had this happen?

What point is there to making a cool looking sim if they don't translate to the game?

And why did Maxis put all those cool features in Body Shop and not in the game CAS?

    Grrrrr ....

I've got several people I created in Body Shop, particularly Errol, Harcourt, and Alka. They look the same when imported to my game. I've used them several times  in different neighborhoods. Mine weren't too carefully constructed, though. In fact, Harcourt is a slightly modified canned sim from the game. So's Alka. Even Errol, although I changed him a lot. Maybe a lot of modifications result in more problems.

But it is annoying that a lot of the features aren't available in the game CAS. I guess it may be because it would take the game even longer to load than it already does.

As an unrelated aside, I was recently desperate to get Errol's townie wife from one neighborhood to another. She wasn't created in either Body Shop or CAS. So I exported their Strangetown house (with family) to a file and installed it back in the game, then planted it in the new neighborhood. The house crashed but the family survived. Whew! It was a close call, though.
