Game decides student needs to leave Uni during Freshman mid term exam

Sorry for the long title, I've been accused of being "wordie" in the past. Also I searched for a thread about this problem and a possible solution because I thought I had seen where someone had a similar problem in the past but couldn't find anything.

This morning while I was playing one of the dorms one of my students left for his freshman mid-term final exam. I had thought about sending him back to the neighborhood because he just didn't seem happy at college. Then I found him a girlfriend because I thought that would make things better for him. He's a family sim so his wants all revolved around starting a romance so that he could get married right after he graduates. Anyway right in the middle of his final exam I get this message pop up that says "It's time for Keith to move back to the real world". When he comes back from taking his final he immediately changes into an adult and everyone runs out of the dorm to say good bye. A taxi must have been waiting in the wings because he's still spinning for the age transition when the taxi pulls up in front of the dorm. Then I get the typical message that he's in the family bin back in the main neighborhood.

I'm hoping that the problem was simply that he went into aspiration failure one to many times and the game figured it would send him back for his own good. Otherwise I really don't know why it would send him back home and I'm worried that my other sims will have a problem too.

Ruthie, I had this happen recently as well. I thought it was a bug, and I thought that it was fixed with the latest patch, but obviously I was wrong.

This happened twice to me, both at the Sorority house. I think the consensus was that it's some kind of stuck "move-out thingy" left from one of your sims who have already moved out. The way to fix it seems to be to move your students to another lot.

Not sure if you can move them right back in or not. I didn't since I needed a change of scenery anyway. Maybe someone else who knows what in the world I'm talking about can tell you! Anyway, it hasn't happened again in my game since I moved everyone.

Well I may try the move out and back in thing. I also have some invisible furniture in one of the rooms. Maybe the lot needs to be reset. I don't know but I was hoping that it was just a "feature" for the students that just don't seem to be able to adjust to college life. That's the main reason why I'm not more upset about it, poor ole Keith just didn't seem to like college life much.

Oddly enough, Jane Stacks did the same thing. She had gone into aspiration failure as well, so I thought that the move out was a result of that. But I also take into consideration that she moved into the frat house, which had several students graduate and move out. She must've picked up a token that way. Who knows...she seems happy being a stay at home mom.

Apparently this will be fixed in the new patch. Unfortunately I'll have to wait for OFB to get it, if it's included. If not I'll have to go by the library and see if I can download it from there.

It worked out though because Keith is now married with a child on the way and he seems very happy.

Or a review of this message could provide the answer immediately ...

"detective Mirelly strikes again" again :p

The only problem with that solution is that I can't download anything from MATY because of our filter here at work. I'll just have to wait until OFB comes out and hope it will include the patch. If not it's off to the library I go.

Oh, Ruthie. Head for the library immediately. Pescado's little tweaks have saved more sims from immolation than can possibly be estimated ... oh, I'll have a go ... ... I'd say he's saved at least a googol of sims.
