    GRRRR!! My Real Life "Marsha!"

Hubby and I made a deal that I would not spend my evenings on his nights off in Simsville, so that he and I could spend more time together. So, this week he only works three nights, and last night was his last work-ngiht. I had thought all day about what I was going to do in my game. Both my Sim-self and Sim-Hubby were just a couple of days from transitioning to Elders. Their oldest son, Edward, had just graduated from UNI and moved back in with them. He's a wealth sim. He's engaged to a girl still at UNI. Sooo, I decided that I would put Eddie to work and let him make some Simoleons, and let Hubby and me transition. Then, switch over to UNI and let my soon-to-be DIL finish college. Have it all set up for a lavish wedding next week, when I get to play again. My future plan is to let Eddie and his bride move into a downtown lot and build a shop downstairs with an apartment upstairs, just in time for OFB.

So, I boot up my game and put on "Finding Nemo" for my little ones, whom are about an hour away from bedtime. I play happilly for about 45 minutes when the phone rings. It's my SIL. She has lots to tell me. Very important stuff, like that my little niece took her 1st steps! And then she wanted to talk about the Coal Miners in WV. Her mother lives in that town and heard/felt the explosion in the mine. :( About this time, "Nemo" goes off, and the kids need a bath. So, I start to excuse myself from SIL, but she continues to talk. I put the phone on my shoulder and give my kids their baths, even hanging up on her accidently because my cheek hit the "off" button. She calls right back! I tuck my kids in, SIL says, "Tell them Auntie says Goodnight". Then she says, "Well, now that you've got the kids in bed, we can really talk!" I tell her I'm tired, ready for bed, looking longingly at my paused Sims. She continues to talk, but the conversation has deteriorated to shampoo and what did you cook for dinner?. Two and a half hours later, I finally get off the phone!

I was so tired. I've been getting up at 5:30 am to exercise, and wanted to get to bed early last night. But, I sat right back down at that computer and played until 11:30. I still didn't get everything I wanted done, but I did get to everyone's birthdays.

Finally fell asleep around 12:30. Got right back up at 5:30. I'm a little irritable today, if you haven't guessed. LMAO.

    I wonder if there's a cure for Sim-related insomnia. :(

I feel for you! My cousin/best friend did that to me on Tuesday night. God love family and friends, but after such a busy holiday season, give us a break for OURselves! ;)

Oh I hear you on this as well. My best friend just rambles on and on, and half the time I don't pay any attention to her. I just play the sims through her talking, like you gave the bath through your SIL's talking! Hope you get some quality SIM time in later this week.

Oh how I hear all of you. There are times when I think that sims phone is just spooky but now I stop to think about it so is my real one ... it only seems to ring when I have found the perfect moment for ... well, anything except talking to a dear friend on the phone

    Go, caller ID!

My daughter finally went to bed. I've had a very long day at a client site, which means no Worldsims all day long, and then my husband works the graveyard shift (sort of) so he left for work at 8:30 and I had kid duty all evening.

I hate to be a grouch but when she gets up for the third time because she needs yet another glass of water and I just want some time to myself ... argh.

It's 10:30! Bedtime was an hour and a half ago, and I haven't had any time to play the sims today.

Boo hooo ... poor little me.

Think I'll log off and play them right now.

OMG how weird is that. I just logged on this second. :D

Just checking to see if anyone had any interesting posts before I go to bed.

Played sims for a few hours, moving the kids through their childhoods and coming up with ideas for the next round of stories ...

Of, SBW, been there too. Wanting to play, after you get the kids to bed it's Mommy's Time, and then they keep waking up!

I think I'm going to get some play time in this morning. Hubby played his computer game all day and all evening last night. I just got up with the kids, and it's CARTOON DAY! ;) So they are happilly watching a Pokemon movie.

I love the electronic babysitter. hehehe. Oh, and btw, I "preach" against allowing children to watch too much tv in my parenting classes. I am sucha hypocrite. :(

LMAO But darlin', din't you know that "too much TV" is whatever other parents permit. Of course your own children watch exactly the right amount of TV. ;)

TV is commonly used as a substitute for lazy parenting practices.

But you know, they call it the "idiot box" for a reason: IT MAKES YOUR KIDS STUPID.

Why not allow your kids to indulge in the wholesome pasttimes of violent video gaming instead? It teaches valuable hand-eye coordination, resource management, and tactical thinking, as well as desensitizing your children to the violence that is so common in today's modern life so they can function unaffected by it (instead of calling up their relatives to blather all night simply because something exploded near them).

LOL at JMP. Yep, I'll bet if my SIL had played more video games in her youth, the mining accident wouldn't have bothered her so much. ;)

My mom was complaining the other day about the mining incident the other day. She was saying, "In China, millions of people die everyday, and nobody gives a ****! But here, eleven people die, and the whole country pays attention!" I guess she has a point there...

Seriously?! So many people? How? Hurricanes? Floods? Earthquakes? That's so awful. It doesn't even show up in our newspapers.

I guess this thread is going WAY off topic and should be down in that zone now. Sorry, moderators. I'll be quiet now.
