Had A Dream About A Great New Feature in TS2 Y'all, I really, really need to cut back on TS2 if I'm DREAMING about it. LOL Anyway, there was this great feature included with the new EP. I could go into "Storytelling" and there was another window that listed every one of my playable sims, almost liike the Sims Browser in SimsPE, but without all the townies. When you clicked on a Sim's name, you could run all the cinimatics that had focused on that sim, from his birth on up to his death. You could run them individually or run them all together like a movie of their life. And you could add the movies that you had made with movie-maker. It was very handy to have. I was watching one of my sims grow up and taking note of who was at his parties and refreshed my memory of who his 1st girlfriend was in the dream. And so I woke up and was thinking about the feature, and thought that this could actually be possible. It could be something that you could disable in "game options" if you didn't want it or didn't want your computer saving all those files. I thought it would be cool to have, that way you wouldn't have to go to all the trouble of recording the cinematics when a special event happened, you already had it, it you were making movies. What do you think?
I think my computer would crash. But I agree it would be cool. Maybe you could have the ability to turn it on and off ... You know "event recorder on ..." Also, since we're dreaming, maybe you could designate what constituted a recordable event. I for one don't want to relive my maxxed-out-skills Sim sitting on his couch reading book after book, for example. But I would have liked a recording of his ex-lover slapping him at his wedding and all of their 10 grandchildren getting "I hate grandpa" symbols over their heads. That was funny. Not sure the computer exists that could hold all the files of every little event in every Sim's life. That would fill up 160 GB in a hurry, especially with my neighborhood and its 100 playable characters ...
Whoa, I swear I had a similar idea today. It wasn't actually a dream, more like a daydream though. I was eating my burger earlier, and the game was taking a particularly long time to load today, so I decided to go watch TV instead. I was hesistant since I realized the game would continue as soon as it loaded, and the idea of having a "REPLAY" mode from the moment you started playing, so you could see exactly what your Sims did (in my case, I could see what they did while I was eating). Great minds think alike, huh? =)
