Ok i am currently a sophmore at high school(duh) so you could now know my age... Well i am in band for the school. THere is symphonic band and concert band. Well last year and his past year I was in concert. And i had braces on so i sort of sucked at those two auditions, plus i was really nervous... But this past audition I did better. Mr. Rinker(main band teacher) Said that i had a major improvement. So next year, There are a total of 25 band members. Today, the results of the auditions came out. I went to look and counted down the list. To my surprise, I was 10th seat! So I am in symphonic band next year! This is the first time in symphonic. I am so excited, my family members were too.

Just to let you know, Symphonic is a better band then Concert...lol no offence to them, But Mr knight(concert band/drumline teacher) doesn't always pick the best songs. So I will get to play something better. hehe.

So right now my mood is HAPPY! haha.

Hi, Doug. Welcome to the forum. My grandson plays Saxophone and in the local Wind Band and Orchestra. He also has a computer but I have no idea of his computer address.
We don't use the expression 'sophmore' here - what does it mean? Perhaps they use it in University - I don't know.

I am sorry - I don't know what the tenth grade is? I finished school at 15 with absolutely nothing at all.
Is it counted backwards (like the Japanese belt system in karate and similar sports) or forwards, as in the West?

Thank you, Doug. I see it is counted upwards. The school that I went to, I simply went back to, year after year. No advance of any kind. In those days when you were in a particular school you could take no examinations - it simply wasn't allowed. So I didn't go to university (or College). Mind you, I really can type now which would be a great advantage if I were female.
