He's got a new tatta-tooed Heh. Feel free to throw tomatoes after that one. Anyway, trying to make a new tattoo for my sim, Max du Maurier. Not entirely happy with the back, but I thought I'd share anyway.
Wow, amazing! It looks really good. All I've managed to do is smear dirt on some clothes, and it took me hours.
Thanks! I think the back could be sharper and I'm not sure I like the layout. Maybe make the dragon thinner ... that's the nice part about sims, you can change their tattoos! LOL. I liked your dirty clothes. Very convincing!
I actually prefer my men smoother, but that's what the replacement skins look like ... the one that I got that is smooth has this weird white effect around the eyes that's a little jarring and makes the men look girlish ... oh, well. Hairy men are definitely more realistic, unless you live on television. And, thanks! The art looks better in "person." The JPG smudged it a bit. I need to try it out in the game. Poor Max is going to spend all his time at the clothing store. Though I might change my mind about giving it to him ... haven't completely decided whose tat it is. Max seems more a Henry Rollins tribal tattoo kinda guy. Maybe I'll do that next.
Why would you delete Bodyshop? For me, it's half the fun. Here's Max's new tattoo. I decided he's definitely tribal tattoo guy. There's a really cool one on his leg as well. I've got to make him some shorts. I'm working on some for girls next.
I'm glad you care enough about my story to get mad at my characters! How flattering. Like Duzzy said, young adulthood is a time of angst and confusion ... who knows where it all will lead? Thanks! I think it suits him. I made a cool girl's tattoo that's a green vine trailing down her back. There's also a sun bellybutton tattoo on the same "outfit." Here it is. I think sun's a bit faded, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.
Very nice! Have you given any thought to doing tattoos with exotic outifts, meaning people from far away lands? Even fantasy lands? The merman 'outfit' comes to mind, for instance. The dragons made me think of that. I know it doesn't fit into Porta de Luca so it would just be something amusing to do on the side. Like you got any spare time.
Did you have something in mind you wanted me to make? I could post it here for you. I just take tattoo "flashes" from the internet and put 'em on my sims. But any design would work. It doesn't have to be an official tattoo, though it should be black and white if at all possible. I can fix if it it's not. Also, these are clothing, not skins, so you need to buy a complete set for your sim if you want continuity. (Everyday, swim, undies, etc.) Once I've got the design it's fairly simple to incorporate it into just about any outfit.
I hadn't actually thought that far ahead. However, your comment about finding an image and putting it on the sim (or article of clothing) got me curious and I opened Body Shop and pasted a random picture from my wild collection onto a shirt just to see what would happen. Wow! Cool! I didn't save it because the picture I chose was stupid, just for an experiment, but now I want to explore the whole costume thing. With tattoos I assume it's more difficult and I should look up one of the tutorials. It's easy to find the shirt front. But his bicep? Hmmm. And do the other related files have to be changed, too? *scratches head* I can see why the vast majority of clothes offered by various sites for download are recolors of the Maxis outifts supplied with the game. By the way, while I had Body Shop open I played with a hair file, having fun with the Microsoft Photo software and various effects like "negative" and "antique." You can get some wild hair colors doing that. I should try it with skintones. BTW, much thanks for offering to do something for me. I may yet ask for your help.
I was puzzled by BodyShop at first too but the more I played with it the more I figured out how it worked. One way to cheat is to use a tattoo template that's already in the game that has roughly the same placement as you'd like and just paste over it. Of course, that requires erasing what you don't want, etc. Otherwise, it takes a lot of moving things slightly to see where they end up. The sim is skinnier than you think. I aim for the shoulder blade, for example, and end up off the mesh. Just let me know. I'm having fun with tattoos right now.
