Holy hell! It’s now possible to import your own Patterns in TS3! But there’s a catc

And that catch would be…it’s a little time consuming and can be hard.* But yes, it’s true.* Delphy created a tool to pack new patterns into the game.* Technically, his tool isn’t what is difficult, it’s the processor of creating the new pattern.* Unforunately there is no “poof” magic import option.* In fact, it’s very time consuming, requiring effort and skill.* Although some patterns can technically be imported (like wood grain where you don’t want to choose more than one colour for the pattern) for the most part it won’t be that way.

Creating new patterns requires skill of a Vector editing program.* Luckily for you – a tutorial was written to teach the newcomers how (not to use the vector program, but rather create their own patterns).* Visit the Sims 2 Wiki and start reading if you’re interested.

The Pattern Packager program allows you to add new Patterns (aka items that appear in Create a Style) to your Sims 3 game. Each Pattern can have up to 4 recolourable “palettes”, which are defined on the Red, Green, Blue and Alpha channels of the source image.

Please read the tutorial located here: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?…Custom_Patterns

Please note! It is NOT possible to just download any old seamless pattern from the net and shove it in game. It WILL look bad and not work properly! You have been warned, and if I get any questions saying “I downloaded a pattern online and tried it and….” then I will find you and eat your pasta.

Oh, and before I forget, download new custom patterns available at Mod The Sims, courtesy of HystericalParoxysm
