There should be a button on the main menu to add a neighborhood. This will create a neighborhood that you can create from scratch. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of gametime, but it's worth it. :)

Just because this is a thread about neighborhoods, I'll post my question here: since I installed Nightlife, I've been mainly playing in Pleasantview. Tonight I decided to play in Strangetown, and when I started building a house, none of the objects from the official site that I'd downloaded were there! What gives?

Okay, we have two questions here:

    1) Anna Marie's Question: You can scroll through the neighborhoods on the start up screen after clicking on "Add Neighborhood" button in the menu. It will bring up a whole host of different terrains in which you can build a new neighborhood. OR, if you have Sim City 4, you can terraform a small city from there and then import it into your terrains. There is a great tutorial from Kat in the Sim City 4 Forum.

    2) Person's Question: That is weird, darlin'. What things are we talking about here? Lots or objects? Maybe you have the Custom Content turned off accidently?

Can you do that with any other Sim City versions? I have SC 3000 UK Edition and I'd like to try making my own neighbourhoods

No, I definately turned it on since I could use the custome makeup and hairstyles in CAS, but none of the objects were there!
