I caved in for FFS, and now I'm regretting it. . . It was on sale. There, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I backed up my neighborhoods on SimsPE. I installed the patch. I even went to MTS2 and downloaded an updated CEP. But anything that requires a special mesh is gone. Oh, I can see it in my downloads folder, but I can't see them in-game. They have either reverted back to whatever they were originally cloned from, or else they are flashing blue. I made sure I had Custom Content Enabled, and yes, there it was. So, for those of you who were still on the fence and wondering if they should buy it or intall it, my opinion, NO! I'm off to see if I can find a cure for this problem. If I can't, I'm uninstalling. All I wanted was a stupid Princess Bedroom for my Sims.
Did you download the patch? I wasn't going to get it anyway, but I'm grateful that you reinforced my opinion.
Yep, patch installed before I opened a neighborhood. Okay, problem found and solved on Kathy's good advice here: http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=1129 My custom stuff is no longer blinking. I'll let you all know if there are any further problems like the good little guniea pig-sheep I am.
I learned my lesson with the holiday pack. I've got FFS, still have to return it to the store, but I never even took it out of the cellophane. They just don't put as much care into the "small" packs as they do the EPs. Grrrrrrrr. Plus, the stuff looks like disney funland. I'm more Williams Sonoma/Restoration Hardware.
Well, it played fine for me the rest of the evening. I even got a couple of pictures. Note: The wallpaper and bedding, and baby furniture are from Well Dressed Sims for the girls and SimSquirts for the boy's.
