It’s ALIVE: EA’s pulse picks up on Impulse Being a Steam user, I can slightly understand why some would want to purchase a game via digital distribution.* However, some people are against Steam and it’s “always online” method of DRM.* Luckily for you there is an alternative, Stardock’s Impulse service.* EA announced earlier today that 4 of their games are now available for downloading:* The Sims 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising, and Spore. Sadly, if you are against DRM, then avoid these releases – they come with SecuROM. Source:* NeoSeeker Share and Enjoy:
You do not have to be online with Steam to play their games. There is an option to play offline if you so desire. Sadly the only complaint I have with Steam is once you register a game with Steam it's yours only as you can never "sell" that game to anybody because the activation code is registered with your email address.
