Kotaku - Pics from Spore’s launch party Take the jump to Kotaku as they have a few pictures from a launch party for Spore.* The event was held at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.* The folks that attended were treated with food, hands on time with the game, and even being able to see the brand new planetarium and their aquarium. The main bulk of the event was the presentation given by Will Wright as a lead-in for scientist Frank Drake. Drake is the astrophysicist who came up with an equation to figure out how many different kinds of intelligent life in the galaxy there could be. This was Wright’s go-to for Spore inspiration when the basic premise of “sim-everything” wasn’t enough to get the design team going. Kotaku - Swanky Spore Launch event
