Legacy Challenge Question Are the children of Legacy Sims allowed to go to Uni then move back in with their parents, if theyre an only child of said Sims? I've just got onto the third generation of my Legacy family today after about a week of playing. My second generation Sim, Robin Legacy, went to Uni as he had a fear of being uneducated (he is a Fortune sim), and has now moved back in with his parents and has married/had a baby with Sadie Shaikh. So, is it allowed? Please don't say I have to start again...
You have officially been turned in to the Legacy Challenge Compliance Police. They will be at your house tomorrow between 8 and 5 to confiscate your copy of the Sims2. J/k... Seriously, as long as one member of the Legacy clan continues to occupy the family manor the other family members are free to come and go at will so you are ok with the rules. That said, unless you are participating in some official Challenge game somewhere or play the challenge against friends online (or something like that) you don't have to be so strict with yourself over the rules. IIRC the challenge was really set up as a way to make the game more interesting for experienced players who were bored with the core game and waiting for the EP's to come out. The rules were never meant to be gospel. Heck, even Monopoly (TM) lets you change the trading rules or decide how to use Free Parking to suite your taste. IMHO, as long as you loosely follow the rules and refuse to use cheat codes or happiness hacks you are still in keeping with the spirit of the challenge. Just enjoy yourself...it is a *game* after all!
I never did play the Legacy Challenge after Uni came out, but I think that's okay. I know that you are allowed to send the kids to Uni and then move them back onto the lot.
I've never even read the "Legacy Challenge" rules, but I still have a family in my neighborhood named the "Legacy"s. Basically I knew you had to start on a 5x5 lot with nothing, only marry NPC's and never use cheat codes (except the occasional Move_Objects). So, that's how I play that family, they are my "clean" family. And since my unfortunate reinstall issue, they are now my ONLY family. =( But they're in their 2nd generation, so soon the town will become populized. As WereBear said, it's all in the fun and how YOU want to play the game, after all, it's only YOU that is supposed to be getting enjoyment out of it!
That's very true, but for this challenge family I wanted to play strictly by the rules; nothing wrong with that! I'm having a great time playing it, anyway, a lot more fun than I do playing it normally! Playing without cheats or hacks makes you think more
