    Maple Trees & Seasons

Since I couldn't find anything on the forums when I had this problem I'm posting it here for anyone else who might have this.

The Maxis Japanese Maple tree in 3 colorways (plus decorated versions for the Christmas Party Pack) has a bug that causes display problems during spring and fall.

but upstairs is another matter :(

OK what happens is that the maple are on a neighbors lot (it might be a communal lot or residential one). In the neighborhood view the maples are not where they should be but can be seen sticking out of roads and roofs and parked cars.

They can't be removed unless you load the lot they are supposed to be on, where you'll find them exactly where they are supposed to be. Delete them and replace with birch trees (if you want autumn leaf fall for compost and raking fun :p). Once you've done that the messed up neighbors will immediately be cured.

I can't help wondering why Maxis released a 45MB patch that fixed 3 unimportant bugs when badness like this goes ignored. It took me most of last night tearing around Penn Vale sorting this mess out and I only had a dozen or so maples. Credit goes to the nice folks at MATY for pointing me in the right direction.

So who didn't pull the plug and left water standing in the bathroom sink?

p.s. I'll watch out for the maple trees. Thanks for the warning. :)
