    Moving your sim

i seem to be posting alot of questions :p

anyways i understand how to move sims, id just like some reccommendations from you on when is the right time and how much money you should have.

cuz i was in the Dreamer household and my sim became and elder so i moved him out with his wife. the house had $50,000 but after moving out and buying a house they only had $10,000 (i only spent 15,000 on house)

After you moved them out and before you bought the other house, how much did they have?

Maybe they lost money on the sale of some of their household goods. Most things depreciate in value after you buy them and they sit around awhile, both in real life and in the Sims games.

But 25000 does seem an unusually large drop in the bank account.

Yes, I am puzzled by the drop, too. The family worth is what the family will have if you move them to the sim bin. Perhaps you can explain further ... maybe the sums you quote are mistaken.

I very rarely move sims unless I intend to use a money cheat. Even if a family gets a big cash bonus of $50K I find it's better to spend the money extending the present house rather than waste money replacing all the furniture at once.

One way to find out if your sim can afford to move is to choose the house you want then to buy and open it up from the houses menu in the neighborhood screen. Furnish it how you want and then save and exit back to the neighborhood screen. Its price will have gone up because of the new stuff. If that is more than your sims have then you can decide if you want to wait until they can afford it or else to go back and downgrade some of the furniture ...
