Yup. Also, if you invite a townie, like Benjamin Long, (not an NPC, which are people like the mail man and the maid) to move with you, they often come with jobs already. I invited Amin Sims to move in, and he turned out to be a criminal mastermind. He had to quit that job because his ladyfriend (who invited him to move in) was a police woman. p.s. He's not a criminal mastermind in every neighborhood. He turned out to be a scientist in one of my other ones.
So true that Sims are different in every neighborhood. Amin in one of mine was in business. Not sure what he is now. None of my Sims have been interested in him yet.
