My Superstar Question I began rebuilding a lot on the Superstar page. I put in the side walk and then I found that I couldn't put a street light on one of the square tiles by the road. Yes, I did have the "move_objects on" cheat activated. I put the street light somewhere else and clicked on the spot that I couldn't access and apparently I picked up an invisible object. The object looked like a tall table in the viewer and it was named "Ped Marker - Studio Middle". I think that marker tells the game where to drop you off when you arrive to that lot. Anyway, I put the invisible object back where I found it. My question is: Would there be a huge problem if I deleted it? I have one more question. A certain unaccessible sim keeps showing up in Superstar. His name is "Bartender _______" I forget is whole name, and he has a spinning star above his head. At certain lots he is either shown with clothes, or invisible and is usually standing on the road where cars cannot pass. If you wait long enough cars will go through him, but I wanted to see if anyone else has this "problem"? Sincerely, Amy Sims
Deleting fixed items like the trash can or mailbox in the sims could be harmful.... Any items that do not allow you to delete is there for a reason. As for the second question, don't know sorry :(
Do you think I should just leave that invisible table alone? I wonder if its there just so your sims can get out of a limo and walk down a red carpet. I've finally reached "Talk of the Town" level. I find the hardest quiz is the Music Video and the Modeling Stage. But I seem to get at least 2 right answers with both objects. At least I'm getting some recognition. Sincerely, Amy
Yeah, that table is where your Sim shows up. Those "tables" are in all of the lots. In one of my Downtown lots, I made a huge side walk, but I got mad because the Sims weren't walking in the middle of it (I like things symetrical ). I went and moved the "table" at the end of the lot and they walked where I wanted them too.
LordBrain, are you aware of any problems if the invisible table is accidentally deleted? I haven't deleted it, but you never know, mistakes can sometimes happen. Sincerely, Amy Sims
If you delete the invisible items, you can get a lot of problems: It could be that no Sim is coming to the area It could be that no car is arriving It could be that you you can`t go home again (because the car does not come) Don`t delete invisible items!
Thank you Tahera. I will make sure not to delete any invisible objects in the Superstar Expansion. I figured that If I ever accidentally do I can just copy the original Superstar lot from one of the UserData House folders. I had to do that when I deleted a Superstar lot (Lot 84 I think) and then realised that the basketball net isn't available with the other Superstar objects. Sincerely, Amy Sims
I'm still having troubles with that bartender guy standing in the middle of the road blocking traffic, so I thought I'd mention it in case someone has learned what to do about this already. I think since several people have had this same problem that it's a bug in the game!
I have that problem too FaeLuna. But when he's standing there,more often than not, he's partly invisible and only his head and hands are visible. If I wait long enough cars will leave the lot, but having a frozen sim standing on the road can get to be a real pain. I haven't heard about any ways to fix it. Yes, my bartender guy is invisible except for his hands and head most of the time too, and I've noticed that the other sims around him that do that freak out because he's famous so they have thought baloons with him have the medium toned version of his head in the thought balloons instead of the light tone his head and hands actually are. So whatever's happened seems to be REALLY messed up.... I found him in my Downtown beach lot as the bartender in the upper story of the boardwalk and he's visible and works fine as a bartender there, and he has the star floating over his head so I know it's really the same sim... weird...
How strange. I've never checked Downtown. I deleted all the lots because I wanted to rebuild my own. I wonder if the computer will pick him as an automatic bartender if I use one of the game supplied bar stations. I can't recall if any sim noticed him on that lot in Superstar. There always seems to be other stars on that lot that get most of the attention. Sincerely, Amy Sims
