Neglected sims So I decided to drop in for a visit with 6 college students in one of my dorms. I hadn't visited since installing Nightlife so they were all standing at attention by their beds, all still freshmen. Three of them, two brothers and their sister are grandchildren of the founding father, Duke Sparrow. Since I've pursued his descendents down thru one of his other children (Wynter), this branch of the family has been left to fend for itself. So anyway, one of the children now at college is Diego, and he's a family sim. I found him with his aspiration meter totally in the red. The mental health doctor had to drop into the picture and raise poor Diego up from chicken clucking on the floor. And why is this? I examined his memories and found that it was Sybil's death that had upset him so much that he didn't even know if he could get over it (so his memory said.) This isn't the first time I've found a sim I haven't visited in a while now in need of TLC because of Sybil Sparrow's death (Dear Emmy thread for those just tuning in.) Family sims, I'm guessing, are the ones that react that way. Wow. The reverberations of one sim death spread far and wide through the neighborhood. It's unnerving. Now I feel an obligation to check in on more of them. I stayed with Diego long enough to raise him into the green.
If they're related and are family sims, could well be so. The six children of Sybil's sister Elizabeth were more upset about Sybil's death than her sister was. One teenager, in particular, was way into the red. It took me a few sim days to calm everyone down and get their lives back to a normal routine. Tosha Go was not particularly upset by old man Duke's death, not being related, but they were friends and she has a happy memory of inheriting money from him. Speaking of inheriting money, one of my college houses, where Sparrow family members always stay while attending college has a lot of money because the kids keep inheriting money as the elders die. The household has more than 50,000 simoleons now. Generally I replace appliances rather than bother to repair them. Of course with inventory available it occurs to me that I could pack them up with cars and appliances before they move back home. What do you think? Good idea?
i wish i had expansions anyway my sim had way in the red and no social and he was talking to a cup on a stick :S how crazy is that?
He was a popularity sim then? I never ever make my sims go in the red. It's just never happened. I also never allow my sims to go 5 mins in our time without at least one pause. I am a control freak.
I had two parent Sims go in the red when both their sons did not make it into private school. I didn't save, but whoops.
The only time my sims have gotten red Aspiration is when I purposely make them like that and snap pictures. Well, there was the time when I made Chloe Singles, a romance sim, get married. That was fun.
Sometimes they talk to a basketball with a face painted on it. So am I...pause...pause...pause. Man, I tell them when to eat, shower, and go to the bathroom, but sometimes, when I'm not looking, something out of my control happens, and someone goes into the red. Happened constantly when I first got the game. Simsyth, have patience. I think you said something about getting an expansion for Christmas. It's not too long from now. Remain stalwart (which means physically and morally strong.)
LOL, I'm getting Uni for Christmas, but at least I have Nightlife now...not to make you feel bad, Simsyth.
I had my first "official" Sim go into Aspiration Meltdown. Yuna's hubby, Lazlo, died today, and she took the death pretty hard. The therapist had to come and make her cluck like a chicken to make her feel better. Then Yuna called the Matchmaker and now she's currently dating a gardner by the name of Dominic. She's feeling a whole lot better now.
Yeh,but ive found out im only getting uni but maybe nl some other time Hmm i perposely made my sim get all crazy...oh and i had a money sim and he stood out front of his house with a money sign:shocked: EDIT:yay im a merchant now!
I had one of my male Sims do that. I didn't notice he was in aspiration failure (don't know how I missed it - honest! ) I thought it was a bit silly doing it outside in the middle of the night, since how many Sims are likely to be on the streets at that time? Certainly not the type who would actually give away simoleons! lol!
Lol whats funny is i was begging for money and my dudes girlfriend walked past and she didnt give him a CENT.
....lol I thought she came over for a woohoo.....she came over to sit on my dudes sofa and watch tv NOT even dinner:shocked: well her nice points are like 3-2 or something.
That explains it... what's the funniest aspiration failure you've seen? I crack up laughing when I see Sims talking to flour sack babies . Haven't seen the Pleasure one yet. It's something to do with grilled cheese sandwiches...:silly:
I made the mistake of having a sim stick his head into the cement mixer thingamajig (to change what he was attracted to in another sim) when he was only in the green. Oops. He came out of it obsessed with grilled cheese sandwiches--making them, eating them. So he cooked and ate grilled cheese sandwiches until he he'd worked himself up into the gold and I was able to change him back to normal.
