Ditto for me. I'd much rather make my own. Though if I had to pick I'd say Strangetown. I only played the others for half a minute before I got bored. Strangetown has an intriguing built-in history the other two seemingly lack (like I said I played them for half a minute so I may have missed it ...) Anyway, I've read one trillion posts about Bella and Mortimer and Don Lothario and frankly I'm sick of the lot of them, and I only played them once! Pollination Tech #9, on the other hand, is kind of a sweetie, despite being fugly and green.
I voted "None of the Above" because I too play a custom neighborhood. I terra-formed it with SC4, and my little Simmies live there quite happilly.
I'd have to go with Pleasantview. It has a tradition to it. Also, it isn't prone to running out of space like Strangetown is, although Strangetown itself is pretty cool. Creating your own downtowns would help alleviate the space shortage in Strangetown now, though.
Didn't really peg you for a traditionalist, Pescado. I agree that the most thought seems to have gone into Pleasantville. I'll probably never play it, though, as I'm having too much fun with my own neighborhood. Thanks for fightclub, BTW. It works awesome. Much more realistic fights. Now, if we could just get them to stop fighting like (traditional) girls, that would be great. Though it's kind of a giggle to watch two men in a slapfight hissyfit, I have to admit.
I tend to play Pleasantview. I tried Veronaville, wasn't bad, just didn't like all the same type or color homes. Anything different looked just that, different and out of place. If I had more time to play, I'd probably make own neighborhood. However, after cooking, cleaning, spending time with hubby, I devote all my sim time to playing characters.
I must admit, although I love my custom neighborhood, Asquith Hill, I do have a sweet spot for old Pleasantview. I still remember back in TS1 when Bella was still around, and Cassandra was only a little girl...
Well besides one of my custom hoods I'd have to say Pleasantview mainly because I'm familiar with the story already. Other then that Strangetown because I really like the Smith family even though I don't really like aliens. Ruth
I wasn't that keen on the whole aliens thing either, but I've grown quite fond of the Smiths, myself. I thought it would be interesting to have a green baby in my current neighborhood but so far no aliens are biting. Don't know why, either, cuz all my men is cute.
