Open 4 Buisness installs, but will not update!

I have a very weird problem. After installing sims2 I try to install the expansion pack open for buisness, everything goes fine, till i have to insert disk 4 of sims2 to update it. It worked fine on my desktop computer. Im trying to install it on my laptop right now. It has a 1.4 Ghz Celeron M 504mb ram, with plenty of hard drive space left. I first installed it into its own folder under EA Games. That didn't work, maybe I thought that it being under EA Games folder, it was to close to the sims 2? So i did it all over again under Program files\Sims 2 Open 4 Buisness. I dont understand why disk 4 will not update it. I reinstalled sims 2 starting all over again and it worked fine. (one thing weird though, when I re-installed sims 2 the left side said that open 4 buisness was installed, when i was installing the Sims 2.) The laptop is a Dell Inspiron B120.

Sorry but a budget laptop such as the B120 (the B is for Basic) is really going to suck trying to run a high-end graphical game like TS2.

If you want to post your full system specs (especially the display information) then see the FAQ's in my signature to find out how to get the information you need. Frankly tho' I would not bother. That little Dell is OK for homework and projects and internet but gaming? Uh uh! No way, Jose :(

P'raps ExoticJ likes taking exotic holidays, Josh ;)

As for the possible conflict, I have little or no idea. I still think that laptop is very lightweight on power to run a graphic heavy game like TS2.

When you installed TS2 was there some sort of language option? If so what did you choose?

I think it's the style that is readibly available on ebay. I've looked at ebay before and it seems like all the games for sale are Thailand versions of Sims2, authentic, originals, but Thailand versions.

Oh ya, i forgot to post. IT WORKED! randomly. What fixed it was, instead of running the update automaticly. Go into the folder sims2 open 4 buisness TSbin and double click on the update. then run it. You will have both ts2udt running, cause if you hit cancel you wont have the expansion pack folder anymore, so they have to be both running. after it finishes, the other one still be up, only way i could buypass it without hitting cancel (i didn't want to take the chance of canceling it after the update was installed it would still delete) I just turned off the computer. More of a hastle, but still works!
