    opening a salon

ok - so i buy the makeover chair and a mirror. And of course the opn/close sign. Now the potential customers come into the salon with a dollar sign above their head. My question - where do i go from here.
Please list step by step. Thanks

Depends where you look for advice, Jo. Some complain that Salon Chair is bugged to the point of uselessness. I suspect that is an exaggeration

Best plan for a newbie at business a la sims is to start small ... very small.

I read somewhere that a player started a salon with just a chair. No building, just the chair (I presume there must've have been a wall with a shop sign to open the business ;) )

Seriously. Don't overcomplicate things. One chair, one sim (the owner). Wait for customer to show up. Click customer and try the various options. If there is only one chair and no other merchandise then the customer will have to be "browsing" the chair trying to decide on a makeover. If the customer looks confused then click them and check for option "can I help you?" (under sales). Try offering a makeover (under sales) ... if all else fails offer a freebie ... oh almost forgot ... clcik the chair to set the price. If your sims ain't got any cosmetology badges don't try charging top dollar
