Parties... Why is it whenever I have a party I can only invite 2 sims? That drives me nuts! :cross-eyed:
There is a cheat to set the maximum number. Use it with extreme caution because the more sims on the lot the more load on the computer and the greater the chance that the game will crash or worse. The cheat is: intProp maxNumberOfVisitingSims # (where # is a number) My advice would be to see if setting it to 4 is OK before going up another 2. For heaven's sake don't go crazy and jack it up to silly numbers. The game automatically picks a safe number after analysing what it thinks your computer can handle. Whups. This cheat must be entered at the Neighborhood Screen to take effect. Once you are happy that you have a found an acceptable number you might decide to add the cheat to your user start up cheat file in the Config directory. Post here again if you wanna know how.
Another thing that you can do is to send over your two people that you invited for the party and then phone some other people up and ask them to come over. It will still be a party and by doing it this way you at least know that some of your people that you invite will come over. (When I throw parties, hardly any of my people that I invite come. I guess, people just don't like my sims. So I preferr this way :classic:.) And the cheat that Mirelly posted is very useful :classic:.
The number of guests you can invite (other than using intprop maxnumberofvisitingsims cheat) is based on what your computer can handle without losing performance. If you don't care about performance/graphics, then use the intprop cheat to up the number of guests. If you normally can have only 2 sims at a time, I heartily recommend that you not increase it past 8 (which is the normal max if you have a good computer and don't use the intprop cheat.) By the way, this post isn't really about the Sims 2 community, so it's going to move to a better section.
i love throwing parties with my sims that have high influence and lots of friends becuase everyone has a great time and its really fun. the other day the police came to break up my party. i didnt know that could happen on the game
Happens to me all the time! The key is to have a party that starts late, say at 9 or 10 p.m. and make sure you play the stereo. The police almost inevitably break it up. Ever since I installed my new chip I can invite 8 people. So maybe the game tailors itself to what your computer can handle.
