pesky customers i have a buissness at my home but my customrs keep cming in my house and messing around . is there any way to stop this??
OFB adds lockability to the doors. Click the doors to choose the locking options. It's best to not to have a garage (if you have Nightlife as well) on a home business because garage doors cannot be locked and visitors/customers will trek laboriously all the way through a garage to stop at a locked door at the back that gives access to the house. Customer sims, as far as I remember, will go to any lengths, to walk to the furthest locked door before deciding the can't get through it. Home businesses are a pain for this reason. The best solution is to have only one building on the plot with only one entrance sited about 4 squares from the mailbox. Make the business in the room immediately beyond the entrance door and provide a door for resident sims to get from the business to the rest of the house and keep it locked. That's just one way ... many others are possible, I'm sure.
I would say to make sure that your business is a completely different building than your house because that way you can control which entries are locked. Just click on the entrances to the house and choose lock...allow family only. Then you're set to go!
Yes, simgurl, but as I said ... customers are still apt to walk all the way to the furthest locked door before heading to the only unlocked one.
thanks for that as that as i almost have no hair left after my fridge was completly empty and i had to constntly refil it
the only time i had a home business was when i first started playing sims and i had 2 adults, 1 elder, 1 child and a toddler i had the living space upstairs and the business downstairs. i have never been so stressed in my life they had no cooking skills so they kept setting the cooker alite and of course after a fire everyone needs a shower after and it was so squashed . everyone kept throwing strops when they couldnt move for all the objects. it didnt help that the customors felt the need to come into my home area use my food and generally reck the place. lol i have learnt to never ever do that again
One of my businesses has benefitted from sims wandering through my house at random. They tend to congregate in the selling area eventually. But my best home business has doors to the house firmly locked, with a room at the end that used to be the living room but is now the store. Since getting Seasons their porch, which has the bubble blower and musical instruments, has become a screened in, locked porch. I'll have to see if that affects the business. Customers used to help themselves, though they couldn't get into the house. I always allow them a bathroom, though. Cuts down on accident clean up.
