If you hear the tune after your Sims 'WooHoo' then your Sim is pregnant. After a day she should start vomiting in the loo. I think pregnancy lasts around 3 days, but I'm not sure.
Pregnancy is 3 days. After the first 24 hrs of vomiting belly begins to show and she won't go to work (still get paid tho!). The game does not decide between male of female child until the labor starts. If you really want, say, a girl then the only thing you can do is to save the game just before she goes into labor and if necessary keep replaying the same bit over and over until you get what you want. It may take a while. Someone recently reported 13 attempts to get a girl. The game's statistical engine tries to maintain a balance between males and females (just like RL ) so if you think you are having trouble getting, say, girls it might be that you already have a lot more females than males.
They don't always puke, but the "morning after" they tried for a baby you'll see her maybe getting nauseous and wondering to herself if she's pregnant. I had one recently that walked around humming to herself all day with the little thought cloud with the baby binkie and the question mark, but she never did get sick or even nauseous. Then some will spend the entire day close to the bathroom! BADDDDD Morning sickness. Just like in real life, some moms have easy pregancies, some moms don't. (I feel for the ones that can't stay out of the bathroom. I was like that with both my boys. With my daughter, not so bad! )
Scandalous Pregnancy Can sims get together in college and have a baby? Imagine the scandal. Does the girl get kicked out of school? I just got the expansion pack so I haven't fully explored the options
Sims in college can woohoo and get engaged, but they can't marry or have babies. (At least not without hacks, and information leading to such hacks is not allowed on this site.)
... apart from which the whole idea of trying to raise a baby, pay the bills and get good grades makes me shudder.
