    Recolors

Hey it's not as tough to figure out as I thought ... well not with the latest version of SimPE it isn't.

My first attempt at a bedding recolor was a qualified success ... success cos it appeared as a recolor for all CEP enabled double and single beds but qualified cos I screwed up the single bed and there's something odd was going on with the pillows ....

I have to admit that I am always looking for recolors because, although I can stand to see my sims wearing the same clothes, day in, day out, I get frustrated by the fact that there are so few furniture items that I actually like enough to use that all my sims' houses tend to look pretty much the same inside ... anyone else have the same trouble?

Here's a sample of the bedding (that went staright into the recycle bin after these pics were taken). My assignment was sternly endorsed:

D- Redo from start - you can do better than this, Mirelly!!!

Even so, I like them. It's not an up close picture but from several feet away they look nice. I liked the bed at the far right, too. Is that a recolor?

I do see what you mean about the pillows. When I did a bandage for Duke Sidewalker's broken nose it showed up on his face with a big dip toward the tip of his nose. Couldn't straighten it out no matter what I did.

LOL the bed on the far right is a new mesh that I included to check that recolorable meshes accept the new bedding. Obviously they do

I've made some improvements (the original Maxis pillow was as bad as my recolor ... it was the default steel-blue color BTW :( ) I got the pattern to match on the single bed if you don't count the huge join line that shows ... aaarrrggghhh! Oh well 3rd time lucky eh. The best thing about practising is that one gets better each time around ... well hopefully.

Ooh MTS2 has come back from the dead so I finally managed to download a bedding template ... that'll make joining the 2 halves of the single bed easier

[Edit]I am sure that's a Liberty's design ... ... anyone recognise it? It came with the assertion that is free to use but it's almost too good ... [/Edit]

    It's Ready!!

This recolor is enabled for all recolorable meshes including the Maxis-made beds that come with the game.

You will need the CEP (Color Enabler Package), which is a small download that allows your game to use recolored objects.

The zip file contains one package that should be unzipped (extracted) into the folder:-

Thank you. Thank you. I've decided that Errol's little girlfriend Kate is going to be redecorating the house while he's out gallivantin'. It'll be all rosey bedspreads and flowered wall paper. He won't recognize the place when he gets back. :D
