Red Bull - Flungtag Float Event Was lucky enough to see this in Portland, Oregon. Folks dress up in crazy outfits, and the group shove the Float over the dock and get judged for originality. 28 Floats - in 4 hours got tossed off the dock while a packed downtown waterfront watched. Michael and I were fortunate enough to watch optimum seating at the media table. It turned out the Handicap access and the media were lumped together in one spot. The weather topped out at a balmy 88*F. Santa's Sleigh, got a $150 USD cash prise for Third Place Willy Wonka took in second place. Star Wars' cardboard X-wing fighter won the $750 USD first prize. I think the way Princess Leah and Chewbacca clinched it for the judges on how they plummeted from the dock to the Willamette River. Most laughable event was the 30 foot Canvas Puffin - looks like a Penguin with a huge orange beak... Michael predicted the float would go down head first ---- but nobody said a gust of wind would cause the head to decapitate before it plummeted off the dock. Temathi
