    Rita heading for Texas!

If you are a member that lives near the Gulf in Texas GET OUT! We don't want to worry about you! :D Rita is promising to be a very strong storm (stronger than Katrina at the moment). I know some areas have issued a mandatory evacuation and you need to be out by tonight!

Do we have any members here that live in Texas? Lol.

I'm glad it didn't turn out as badly as predicted but it was absolutely fascinating to watch Houston evacuate. I can't imagine how frustrating this must have been for these people. I'm surprised there wasn't a lot of road rage shootings. I'm positive that if I'd been trapped with kids and pets for 18-20 hours and moved only 20 miles...I'd have considered shooting myself.

I was caught in a 5 hour bumper to bumper jam one holiday season near Atlanta. I was stunned at how many cars were pulled over and frustrated parents were spanking screaming kids in front of everyone. It was obvious everyone had reached the end of their ropes. I thought of this everytime I saw the evacuation footage on tv and tried to add Texas heat, no gasoline, and fear of being trapped there when the hurricane hit. I can't imagine anyone having this level of patience.
