Should I be worried? Messed up LTWs OK, once is funny, twice, not so much. Two sims I've created in CAS have completely inappropriate LTWs, and I'm wondering: Does this mean my game is buggy, or did Maxis decide to let these be more flexible? I have a knowledge sim, as mentioned before, whose LTW is 100 first dates. Now I have a family sim whose LTW is business tycoon. Just want to know if this is a sign my game is bugging out on me, or if this was a planned move ...
One of my family sims also has a Business Tycoon LTW. I was confused, but does roll wants to have children and interact with his family often. He's a good dad that has a career.
When you think about it, Business Tycoon has the best schedule (Mon-Thur, 9 am to 4 pm) to match the school bus and is a very good provider (8,400 simoleons a week.) Doesn't sound like a bad match for a family sim. My family sims always want to be Capt. Hero. I can only guess that they want a safer neighborhood for their children. As for your Knowledge sims excessive dating want...check Merriam-Webster's defenition of "know", look for the archaic usage.
Ooh, clever. He really wants to get to "know" his neighbors, wink, wink, nudge, nudge ... I'm not sure there are 100 sims who would date him, though. Given that some play hard to get, some are too young, and he only dates girls (at least right now), that limits it quite a bit. I think I'm gonna call that one unattainable. Actually, yes Business Tycoon makes perfect sense for someone who wants to be a solid provider. I just hadn't seen it before.
Maybe you need to go download JMP's Lot fixer button? It will roll LTWs for you. But, yeah, I think the 100 dates one is unobtainable. Unless he lives a very looooogggg life and has lots of dates with younger ladies. Got any Anna Nicole wanna-bes? You know, I have yet to make a Sim perma-plat. I haven't really worked on it that much. Besides, I keep having to start my sims over, three times in the past year, so they really haven't gotten the chance.
Your LTW is random, randomized every time your Sim picks an aspiration. My neighborhood had dozens of sims that wanted to be a Hall of Famer. I reset their apsiration until something else came up.
Yeah, I know that, but with the "old" game (pre-NL) I noticed that certain aspirations only rolled certain LTWs (e.g., knowledge sims only got Chief of Staff, Mad Scientist or Max out 7 Skills). I noticed a few weird ones later on but I thought it was my computer acting up ... and now that I have NL anything goes, it seems. Which is fine. I had a plethora of chief of staff wannabes previously and no way to fix it. Only one or two this time around, plus I can change it if I want ... ahhh, that's better. Didn't mean to sound like I was complaining. I was just worried that my machine might be buggy ...
I had actually forgotten all about LTWs with the game until we mentioned them here about a week ago. I never remember to check what it is so none of my sims have reached permaplat yet. Plethora! I love that word!
A while ago, before I got agitated and started from scratch again, it seemed like everyone in my neighborhood--regardless of aspiration--wanted to be Captain Hero. I let some reach their LTW, others I don't. Some variety.
