    Sim belly

I generally avoid looking at my full length self in the mirror. I think one day the shock will kill me. But I have noticed something disturbing recently. You all have heard what happens when you over indulge in beer for too long. Well, in spite of my big talk, I actually don't drink much beer. My husband invariably finishes my mug. (Wine is another story.)

However, I've been over indulging in Sims2 for a year now. And...uh oh...sim belly.

Anyone else find their center of gravity dropping because of an addiction to the Sims?

You're not alone... I find that certain parts of myself seem to be heading south myself...

I worry about that myself. My main problem is a bad back. If I sit too long parts of me start falling asleep.

But does that stop me? Noooo.

I think the solution is to make myself exercise first, play sims second. :)

I had a problem with my lower back aching, even to the point of painful spasms. What to do? What to do? What would exercise the lower back? I figured it out--I bought a hula hoop and used it every morning for about 5 or 10 minutes before jumping in the shower to get ready for work. It did the trick. The spasms and soreness went away.

Exercise is right. That's what I need to do. I did the hula hoop business before I got so heavily into Sims2. I should get the thing out of the closet and do it every morning from now on. After my husband goes to work, because he would start laughing, then I'd start laughing, then I wouldn't be able to do it.

I also have been thinking of setting a schedule for playing the game and visiting here -- restricting myself to maybe 3 times a week, say Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. The holidays are around the corner and there's so much to do, anyway.

And it may be time to tie up loose ends with Dear Emmy and bring that thread to a close. :( It's one reason I'm so obsessed with the game these days. Maybe when Emmy has a baby.

I hear you. I'm extremely addicted to my story thread right now.

I hope I didn't change Ariel back from being a vampire too soon, but I have plans for that girl ... her story is far from over. Plus, of course, I have to play the rest of the family ...

    Unfortunately for my housework.

Got to find moderation. Even my super-tolerant husband rolled his eyes a few times this weekend.

We're all going to be so sad to see that go, that thread is fun to read. But you gotta do what you gotta do! We'll miss the Dear Emmy daily readings.

Only 3 times a week?! I visit the forum 3 times a day! Although I am starting to get carpal tunnel from playing TS2 too much. My parents are always harping me about playing because it makes my eyesight worse, but I find that reading and reading things on the Internet actually make it worse, not playing the game. That's why I love TS2!

I don't have a problem with playing the game on the computer... It's that #!&* game on my phone that screws my eyes up.

What game on the phone? Those screens are so SMALL. You need a 5000x powered microscope to see the little icons. I just have to go by how the phone behaves when I use it. For example, if I manage to actually call someone and speak to them, then I know the phone is working. If I can't call and talk to someone, then I assume it needs to be recharged and I plug it in. :p

It's my back and ankle that annoy me. I'm sat in an armachair, but I'm still awkward. I have to sit on my feet, like a kneeling position. I always sit quite strangly. My friends are quite amazed at some of the positions my legs can go in! ;)

The way my computer is set up on my desk puts me in really odd positions when I'm playing. If I sit in my swivel chair facing the keyboard and mouse, I have to turn my head about 45 degrees to the right to see the monitor. Sitting that way for hours on end, for days on end, had me ending up on a massage table for an emergency deep tissue massage. (It was SERIOUSLY painful). So then I had to take a few days off and give my shoulder time to heal. In the meantime, I tried to jury-rig a new system. I pulled some plastic drawers (I think they're from the Container Store) over to my computer and put my mouse on top of it. So now I sit facing the monitor with the drawers (and mouse) on my right, and the keyboard on my left (I use `, 1, 2, and 3 to change the speed). When I start feeling a twinge in my shoulder I know it's time to take a break.

The records for this day will show that I sat in front of this computer the whole live long day. But the records would be wrong. I've been logged in most of the day but not in front of the computer. Repairmen have been in and out of the house, sometimes working with the gas line, so I've been up and down, running around, talking to the repairmen, opening and shutting windows (don't like the smell of gas). Then I sit down for a spell and see if anything's been posted since I last sat down. :p Whew! They're gone at last, but the smell still lingers, the windows are open and I'm shivering.

LOL Lynet. I had some gas engineers in the house today as well. They came to carry out my annual maintenance and safety check.

I think it's safe to close the windows now. But I've been meaning to mention that if the house blew up with me in it , or a truck ran over my car with me in it, or if I were to just drop on the spot from a heart attack, I wouldn't be logging into Worldsims again and y'all might wonder. Let me tell ya, only Grimmy himself can keep me away. ;) :knockedout: So odd thoughts go through my skull when I'm smelling gas. :p

I have been loosing weight! :D But, not from playing the Sims. I have a new medication that takes away my appetite and makes me really thirsty for water as a side-effect. I've been taking it all summer and have lost 20 lbs. When I don't take it, I empty out the fridge and then sleep! LOL

But, I have noticed some spreading in the rear-end. I didn't have much of a bottom once upon a time. I told Hubby I was starting to see the effects of having three children, and hubby retorted, "And how many Sim Babies?"

Oh, that's so funny. Your husband knows exactly what's wrong. I never thought of it that way. LOL :D
