Simlish Interpretations Anyone? How do you interpret different Simlish words and actions? Thought it would be interesting to see how other people interpret things that the Sims say. Like, when a Sim says "shoofee" and waves at you? It could mean, "Help me, God!" ("God" being the player, obviously).
I know "Erukatal!" means "Wow, he's dreamy!", It's a favorite of female Sims when a love or crush walks by.
And "Tarj!" when Sims are eating (I've only heard male Sims say it. I think it means the food is good )
I think Shooflee means Oh *!@98 I'm going to have a baby/wet my pants/do something else I'll regret. Lixnar! Means "I'm stuck and too stupid to figure out how to get unstuck so get this thing out of my way." Sashay! with fingers pointing means "Hey, I'm cheesy and you're sexy." Or possibly just "Hello." Free Burma? Is obviously a political statement. Just kidding. I think it means, "You're kidding." Mostly said on the telephone. Mi Dardi means "I agree with what you're saying in principle." Or maybe "Right on, Dude."
Don't ask my why I'm looking this up at work, but I happened to stumble across this while looking for family trees of the pre-made families online. This comes from Wikipedia: Ubelichte?...Ooliba-lochtoe... (roughly means "Next target? That (over there) looks fine..." spoken only by teen females when gazing through the telescope.) A freebay? (adult women, means "An engagement ring?") Morsh doove!!! (meaning "Ha-llo!!!" or hello dragged out by teen females. May also mean "howdy, neighbor!) Ah! Fatoosahn! (another teen female telescope phrase, meaning "Eureeka! There it is!") Awww!...Meh-guffaa! (male adult, meaning "Oh...that makes sense to me now...") Gravaalla! Mido!!! (teen female, meaning "Over here! I'm desperate!!!") Kooloola! Putallamadoo! ("Hey there! I'm hungry!") Oh, liepen! (adult women, eaning "Wait! Hold that thought!") Choe kaas!!! Luf-leegah!!! (teen girls, meaning: "No way!!! That's for certain!" Usually announced when they tilt heads back with enlightenment. Sounds like: "choke us!!!") Mihstufaah! Estooflah!!!? (female adult, meaning "(This) blocks my path! Please move it!") Oh, abalada! (adult males, meaning "Wait! I just recalled...") Mee Moo La Loo (I want to get close to you!) Roo mee too ma! (Let's make WhooHoo.) Soo soo ("bye bye") In The Sims 2 expansion pack The Sims 2: University, Sims can do a school cheer that goes: Bada su the carn Bada su the brahn Bada baby ohga abba Donk donk donk! Gurbitz! Gurbitz! Vooooo Gurbitz! ('Gurbitz' appears to be Simlish for 'llamas')
Heh, I don't really pay much attention to when they're speaking, but I guess I should. Maybe we can weedle the whole language out of one of the Maxis people so we can speak in Simlish on the forum! That'd be awesome!
Yeah, would be cool if they brought out a Simlish phrase book! But I guess the language can be pretty much open to interpetation, that's one of it's charms for me
I'm gonna have to turn the volume up on my computer. I haven't been listening very carefully but now I will. My husband is going to wonder who I'm talking to.
With this thread still in my head, I played for a little while. There's this couple, Cleve and Jorden. Cleve was heading to work while Jorden was still in the room. Jorden said "Shiminee," which I took to me something along the lines of "see you later" and Cleve replied "Dug dug," which I think means "Bye bye."
As someone who had a crash course of Simlish, I'm finding it very difficult in not ruining the fun behind Simlish
Ah Joshie's a great big tease. He still hasn't told us what the big surprise was. Way to go Meg. Keep posting. I've always loved simlish. http://bbs.thesims2.ea.com/communit...2&startRow=1#5b3c9c18c3808d99f1e04c01fdb828ea is a huge resource of Simlish interpretation
