So what's annoying you....? So, I've been having some trouble on another TS2 forum I go to. There's a stupid little 12 year old who doesn't know when to shut up. He's annoys people, says derogatory things, and is in general a complete idiotic nuisance. Recently, because I tried to "put him in his place," he's turned his attention to me. Yay me.onder: What really bothers me is that the Mods at the forum think he's funny. He's not funny! He's a little piss-ant who needs an attitude adjustment. He keeps getting away with things that I don't think others could. And when anyone says anything, it turns into a whole mess of finger-pointing and name-calling. THEN the mods step in a just tell everyone to calm down. But this freaking idiot never gets warnings or temporary bans or anything. This whole scenario really bothers me. I just wish I could reach through the internet wires and strangle this kid in his sleep! Then NO ONE would have to deal with him anymore. So, thoughts? Suggestions? Your own personal annoyances?
Ignore him and pretend he doesn't exist. Some forums have an Ignore option in which you can add his name to it and never see any of his posts. Otherwise just act like he is there, and if he makes any remarks, skip over it and resume normal operations. He'll stop when you don't pay attention to him. Also, don't let him know you won't pay attention to him either.
Some people get a kick out of upsetting others or being controversial, but there's nothing worse than being ignored as their comments then mean nothing. Ignore him - it will annoy the heck out of him. As for my own personal annoyance right now - sharing my office phone/keyboard/mouse/pens/pencils/post-it pads at work just because I'm the nearest to the teachers and students. Nope. And I just checked the forum. He flat out called me a b**** in a post earlier this evening. But I doubt they'll do anything about it. No one's done anything so far. And quite a few people on the forum get ticked off at him on a regular basis. I'm seriously considering not going back there except to look at the news on the front page. It really bothers me that this little snot-nosed kid is practically getting away with murder and the mods think it's "funny." Ha freaking ha.
Mind PMing me which board this is? I'd be interested in knowing And a FYI. In my humble opinion, No admin should treat their members like that. Even if its online; it's disrespectful and more to the point, down right rude. Kids these days have no manners. UGH.
Yeah. I've been very careful about my posts recently (i.e. no bad words), so when I get on the forum this morning and see him calling me a fugly ****, it really irritates me. But one of the mods finally said something to him (reminding him how close to being banned he has been in the past and how close he is now). Maybe he'll keep it up, get banned, and I can go back to relaxing. I know that part of my problem is that I have very low tolerance for stupidity and arrogance, so this guy really burns me. Meg, I know how you feel. The internet is full of trolls like that one. To be honest though, if the admins are only acting now, it doesn't say much for their site ethics and ethos. There is absolutely no excuse for such disrespect and abuse on a forum, and it should have been stopped long ago. These trolls are given an inch and they take a mile. And each time they push a bit further and what would once have earned a warning or ban, now becomes the norm. I hope that those admins take care of this situation because there's no justification for such behaviour, and regardless of his age he should know and show some manners online.
Among other things. But, I've decided to be nicer and try to ignore him. It's not easy with some of the things he says, but I think he's in hot water now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he gets banned. Either that or they somehow figure out how to muzzle him. For example, he joined in the fall of last year, and somehow has over 5000 posts. And he has a hissy fit when someone lowers his post count. I wonder if I can get him to listen to Aretha's "RESPECT." Lord knows he doesn't have any now.
