    Stupid Cell Phone

So, I married off my sweet gay couple last night and Xander's sister Ariel missed the wedding because when I tried to call her the game told me she didn't have a phone!

Argh. I knew she had a cell phone, but I've had them disappear before so I went to check on her, and sure enough, she had a phone, and she could even call them (it was three a.m., imagine their joy).

So I had her buy a new one and lose the first. I haven't tested to see if her brother can call it.

Anyone else have this happen? Those two are best friends and I'd hate for them to lose their friendship because he can't call her.

I'd also hate to have to resort to a "land phone," though I will if I have to. I've come to hate the constant ringing. Cell phones are better because if someone's off premises, you don't get calls for them. Much less annoying. I only use land phones when there's a child in the house, so he/she can make friends.

But, my cell phones have become extremely buggy since NL. They tend to disappear, and now they apparently screen calls. ;)

    Anyone else having problems?

Perhaps a land line is required if you are trying to call a sim on another lot? Can they call her just to chat if she has only a cell phone?

I guess cell phones only work if you are playing the sim who owns one. I always thought it was strange that when a sim recieves a call on her cell phone, the house phone also rings. That doesn't happen in real life!

None of my sims have land phones, except, as mentioned, those with children, or those who live in dorms.

Xander was able to call his other sister, and his brother, who both live in the same house as Ariel.

So it was definitely her phone.

Yes, that is odd, isn't it? You wouldn't think the land phone would do that, but oh well.

I do like that cell phones let sims fulfill their friendship obligations simultaneously. In the old days they had to take turns, which gets aggravating if you have more than two sims on a lot.

    Call forwarding?

Hehe, anyway, on the question, I had this happen to one of my sims as well, I haven't attempted to resolve it though as of yet. The Cell phones can get annoying as well, waking people up when their sleeping and such.

None of my sims have cell phones and yet I've had sims lose the ability to phone each other even though they are related and can see each other's houses. It annoyed me so much I started a new neighborhood.

Shana, since I downloaded the patch I have yet to be awakened by a cell phone. It works pretty well.

Good to know, Mirelly. I guess it's just phones in general. I hope it doesn't continue to be an issue. I don't want to stop playing this group of sims.
