    Sudden death?

Okey, here's another game mechanic I don't fully comprehend.

One night Adam and Lilith was sleeping peacefully in their bed. (Just the names if two sims, okey? Don't bother trying to keep track of my storyline, this post is merely about game mechanics.)

They woke up as usual, and then Lilith died as not usual.

She just choked, fell to the floor, and the grim reaper appeared.
Adam's father pleaded with the grim reaper, and he did show mercy.
Sure, all well that ends well.

    But still...
    WTF happened there?

    Why did she die?

I don't think she was very hungry, there was no water or electric machines nearby, and she was not sick. She had not recieved any cricis messages. There was no fires, flies or ghosts nearby. (All of the above is on a "as far as I know" basis, of course.)

She was pregnant, in the earliest stage. I don't think she had vomited yet, not sure.

So, does anyone have any idea why the reaper came for her?

i can't say im the master of ts2 but he's my opinion.u say she was pregant. usally when the moms go in to labour and the baby just about to come theres like a 70 to 30 ( 70 being the highest ) chance thay wont die

well thats wat i say dont take my word for it though:D :D ;)

It was early pregnancy, she's still wearing her usual clothes. No big belly.

I'm pretty sure that being pregnant increases the chance of your sim dying even before the baby is born. One of my sims died when she was "showing"...she just grabbed her stomach and looked in pain and then fell to the floor. She was in good health and her needs were being met so it's just one of those things that can happen I guess.:(

    That's pretty crazy.

I didn't know our sims could die from being pregnant...

Guess I'll have to watch myself when it comes to saving...

Actually, I think that sort of sucks. It's hard enough already to try to meet the needs of especially larger families without 'forgetting' someone or not being able to get someone what they want without turning the game into a rat race, not a fun way to play. I don't mind if my Sims die because I neglected them ( well, I WOULD mind, but you know what I mean ), or if they had an accident, fell down the stairs, burned or whatnot, because those are causes of death I can still understand. I just hope that 'random' deaths are limited to pregnancy. I'd hate it if a healthy, say, adult Sim suddenly keeled over and died for no apparent reason other than a random factor I have no influence over.

I guess that also means that in the future, I might as well just adopt kids instead of running the risk of letting my Sim women die.

Now, I had a man do it last night! He had food poisoning, and I had put him to bed, just like the game tells you too. He and his wife were asleep, and then the music came on and the grim reaper showed up!!!! Like y'all I got no messages that I saw. He was tired, yes, but he was asleep!!! I just don't get it! I wasn't particularly fond of this Sim, and figured his wife would be better off without him, so I let her sleep through his death. LOL

I had a sim spontaneously croak before for no apparent reason, also. Dirk Dreamer returned one night from sneaking out with Lilith Pleasant, went to bed, and then suddenly died in his sleep of unexplained causes. I was totally baffled. But hey, in real life, these things happen. Fortunately, I was able to rouse Darren in time to save Dirk.
