Whoa sorry bout that. I havent gone on here and posted in about 4 or so days because ive been to busy playing the Sims 2. Anyways, I figured out that it runs a bit slower because of the speed of my DVD drive. Its at the minimum speed so its bound to run a little slower.

Once it's installed, the speed of your DVD shouldn't matter. The game uses the harddrive to play, with the DVD just there to tell the game that it's ok to play because this is a legitimate disc, not a copy or a crack.

However, specs aren't the only reason why a game might be slow (although they are one of the biggest.) If you have high specs (like over 3ghz processor, at least 512mb RAM and a good graphics card) the problem may lie in your harddrive speed. Different harddrives have different speeds. For example, mine has something like 7200rpm (it's a SATA drive), but there are a lot of drives out there which run at half that speed. That would make retrieving information from the harddrive slower.

also check out your background tasks. if there are unnecessary tasks running (like file sharing, virus protection, tv show recorders, etc) they can slow even the fastest computers way down. just key in ctrl-alt-delete (if win2000 or winxp click the processes tab) and end anything that isn't explorer or systray (or in win2000 or winxp end anything that has your user name below it but not explorer.exe) and you should be ready to run it at your computer's full performance
