Temporary change age, insert sim, or other way to move teens? Okey, I got a huge house with two teens living there on their own. Now I want two more teens to join the collective. Teens can't move in without an adult, so I planned to invite their mother to join with her kids and then have her move back without her. Then I realized that not only can't teens move in on their own, they can't invite people to move in either! Argh! So, is there any way to solve this? For example, is there any way to change a teen to a adult and then change her back, or simply INSERT a adult into a family. The later would be easiest, since he could just move out in the ordinary way afterwards.
Ummm From what I'm reading in this post and your other one, you have some very detailed ideas on how you want to run your Sims lives. Seems to me though that you come up with the finer details AFTER making your families. Instead of agonizing over how to move who where and when, why not just MAKE the family the way you want? Or am I missing something here. I know for a fact that you can't, temporarily or otherwise, change a Sims life stage backward at any time. You can only hault it from proceeding to the next stage. Not having the game I can't provide much more detail as regards who can move who in and when, but as I said, seems you are creating more trouble for yourself than it's worth. Just plan on what kind of family you want before you move them into the neighborhood.
Maybe you could have the lady with the kids invite them to move in then have all the kids move out together
In other words, since I had the father move out when it was appropriate in the storyline rather then when it turned out to be appropriate from a gamemechanic point of view, I should delete all relevant sims and create new ones with the same names and similar faces. Yes, I could do that. But I won't. If they have to be alone until they brow up, they'll have to settle for that.
Thanks. Having the adult inviting the teens instead of the other way around and then move back into the house could have worked. Sadly, it didn't work. But it was well worth trying.
