The Ghost of Ironsides He haunts King Joe's castle now. I only just saw him for the first time tonight, although I've been playing the castle for several days. If you read my story (Ironsides) you might remember that the robot was possessed by the ghost of Hector Waring, Errol's father. The ghost left and the robot stopped functioning. Actually, he died. Although in the game and story I built a monument to the robot at the park and buried him there, I later decided to keep the tombstone itself at the castle. There are a couple of other ghosts from the story there. A fourth one, King Joe's brother, was also there for a couple of nights, looking really scary with a big scar on his face, and then his tombstone disappeared for some reason. I don't know where the tombstone went. And the brother's ghost hasn't been back since. A final curious point. Ironsides tombstone is not platinum. However, when I select the ghost (allowed through a hack) the ghost has a platinum plumbBob. I'm glad he's happy. So much time passed that I thought robots didn't haunt. Silly me. Pictures attached.
Latest news from the castle The Queen Mother, Alka, died unexpectedly last night. King Joe took it very hard. Later, he removed her urn to the park and buried her next to King Iven. BTW, the stone obelisks are a download that allow me to place the urns or a tombstone underneath them without the moveObjects cheat. I believe I got them over at MTS2. Anyway, I was not expecting the Grim Reaper. I don't even know how old Alka was. All of a sudden Grimmy was there and Alka was quite angry about it. She wrestled with him. I had to turn off the sound so that I couldn't hear Joe and his daughter Simone crying. I couldn't stand it. Ania was at work. I decided to let Alka go, and will not resurrect her. Meanwhile, that same evening, Prince Iven had a birthday. The next evening, Princess Simone had a birthday. Ania is now expecting their third child.
Yes, he does. The only trait he and his sister Simone got from Dad is the brown color of their eyes. And a slight hint of bags under their eyes, which the babies were born with, even though it was only face paint on their Dad. Strange. The Waring genetics are pretty strong, and distinctive. I've gotten the impression that people are really busy playing their games, particularly the Pets EP, and that not much is happening in the General Discussion here. So I just keep posting these updates as I play with the families, just to amuse you all. Maybe I'll pick one of these kids for a story, the continuing Saga of the Harcourt-Waring clans. If I can think of one. Boy, is my mind totally blank at the moment.
I've been thinking about that, and I think that it might in part also have to do with Playstation 3 and the Wii being released recently. I'm assuming that a lot of PC gamers also play games on the consoles. The Wii in particular looks like a lot of fun, but they are both our of our price range! Anyway...off topic!
The topic is kind of loose in this thread, anyway. In fact, since we're talking about Lynet's households, here's another-- Andy and Cory O'Neill just had a baby boy. Yeah, A boy! My neighborhoods tend toward girls all the time, so I'm glad to see a boy now and again. His name, for the moment, is Lee. Pictures, of course, attached. Their house is the Maxis house that came, I'm pretty sure, with the base game. I changed the siding and the color of the windows. A skunk showed up in the yard and ran around all over the place. I sent everyone inside and locked the doors until he left.
I was looking at Cory's baby closely this morning. Lee has his mother's eyes and his Dad's black hair (Mom's is dyed black.) When I looked at him really close, I almost thought the baby also had Dad's "five o'clock" shadow. Must be a trick of the skintone, which looks like his Dad's. I'm eagerly awaiting the transition to toddler. Unfortunately, we will have an overnight houseguest tonight so playing with the game will have to wait until this weekend. Grrrr... :(
LOL, a baby with five o'clock shadow. Wow, both of Ania's children take after Errol, but his granddaughter is still cute. Thank you for sharing the baby pictures! it is like seeing old friends.
I agree! It is fun seeing what has become of your sims. If you are taking votes for next adventurers, I vote for Prince Iven...He looks like he'd be a good mix or Harcourt-Waring genes...And I've always loved that Waring Nose!
So do I. I created Errol in Body Shop with one of the canned sims as the base model, which means that the occasional townie looks a little like him. I created him as a thug working for the bad guy in my unfinished movie. He was a murderer. A really bad guy. He looks quite sinister with a buzz cut and a frown on his face. When I decided to write I,Sim, I picked out Errol because he wasn't 'pretty.' Just an average guy with a kind of "Who me?" look about him, including a bent nose that might have been broken at some time in his life. I gave him more hair so that he wouldn't look so much like a street thug. *sigh* Then I grew quite attached to his goofy face and smile. And I didn't know his genetics would be so obvious in all his children, and grandchildren.
Lee O'Neill is looking more interesting. No "five o'clock shadow," and it looks like his nose is from his Mom. Thank goodness! First picture is just cute. The others are the toddler. The child's browline would have made JMP proud. I went through all my downloaded eyebrows to find some that gave the boy a reasonably friendly expression. Otherwise, he looked quite angry. His personality is all points on neatness, playfulness and activity, but he's a very serious grouch. And before changing his eyebrows, he sure did look like a serious grouch. Andy and Cory are both very serious, but they're not grouches.
The neighborhood is going to get even more interesting. You probably realize that I have two couples of Andy and Cory, because of the different skintones. The toddler above is the child of the first Andy and Cory (who arrived on the lander.) They did, and do, have 3 sparks for each other. The second couple who looked like them except for skintone (and named Rumina and Valen in my game) are now married, but not to each other, because they are the ones with 3 sparks for other sims. Valen married the farmer's daughter, and Rumina married the Medruzz. He cleaned himself up some, got rid of the horns and added some hair. He's a little strange. And now, Rumina is expecting a child. They both have custom skin and eyes. I cannot begin to imagine what this baby is going to look like. I have an office Christmas party to attend within the hour and I'm dying here. I'm so anxious to see that baby born.
Dress up the monster, take off the horns, and he's rather cute. We also got rid of the fangs so that he's got normal teeth now. He wears sunglasses most of the time. He aspires to be a criminal mastermind. No surprise. So I've been playing with him and Rumina the whole day. The baby was born with his father's skin and his mother's eyes. When he grew to toddlerhood he got his father's big, ugly ears and his mother's flat nose. Reminded me of Dumbo. Like Andy and Cory's son, he looks a little mean around the eyes. Just now realized that I forgot to look at his personality points. Now I've got five children to raise, two in the "Andromeda" story neighborhood and three in the "Ironsides" story neighborhood.
He's a really ugly kid. But we'll see how he looks when he grows up. Second picture is Cory's boy, Lee, hanging out with Brittany Parker. And, guess who's coming to dinner? In this day and age, to get ahead in your career, you gotta network.
