The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy opens on April 29 and now that I have seen the trailer I am actually looking forward to seeing this comedy classic finally come to the big screen. It looks like a glorious blend of CGI and daft rubber costumes which is exactly as its creator Douglas Noel Adams would wish. Ah DNA a man of infintie wit and wisdom who said: Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.
Would like to see it myself, but I doubt it will come here. I've heard a lot about it and it seems weird enough to enjoy me... Anyone knows if it ever came out on VHS or DVD? If so - plese tell. maybe I can get hold of it then.
Hi Heln. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy (H2G2) was first aired in the UK in 1976/77 on BBC radio as a series of 6 twenty minute comedies. Almost immediately it acquired a cult following and a 2nd and 3rd series gave its cult following more chances to experience Arthur Dent's quest for the answer to ultimate question in the universe. The creator Douglas Adams then wrote 3 slim novels based on the three series (a trilogy to which he kept adding ... I think the last one was sold as VOLUME FIVE IN THE TRILOGY OF FIVE). By the 1980's it was adapted for TV. I am sure that you would have no trouble getting english language versions of the material (the books and CD's of the radio shows are the best) and the DVD of the film likewise when it is released. Are you able to shop from Amazon clicky? I'd think that as an EU citizen you should be able to.
