the MOST frustrating season (sigh) why is it that every second of summer my sim has to watch the plants from getting bug-infested or be in need of tending EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY?!?!? hmph. thought the gardener was supposed to HELP (-_-... instead, she stole my gnome. thx to the never-ending-bug-ifested-garden, my sim has become a plantsim... hey, that reminds me.. what's the 'spore of happiness'? those little bubbles that come out of my plantsim's head...? wonder what it does...
Summer is a lot of work. Even though my gardening sim has a gold badge (and we belong to the Garden Club!), she is out there night and day. Even so I lost half my plants. I'm going to scale back.
I just thought of something. Has anyone tried this? At the end of spring, re-set the season to spring again with the weather machine and keep going. Will the plants get stuck and not grow? Will they grow and get stronger?
havent tried, but i'm guessing that it'll prolly grow stronger....? maxis should be aware of the fact that we all want to experiment with the game at one point......
Do the ladybugs help in the long term? I've had quite good success with keeping ladybugs around my trees, but I've only been playing for a short time and I'm not sure how well the vegetables would do with them. I'm curious to know about this though, being new to this EP. Cass.
they're SUPPOSED to help you keep your garden/orchard 'bug-free'. ...however, as everyone says, doesnt work much. they'll keep coming, and as far as i've tried, the bugs won't decrease in number, either. you'll have ladybugs around as long as you have the ladybug house-thingy.
Hello sayaka . Build a green house, then there will be no bugs. Also with trees, I put a ladybug house next every tree. I also get every member of family at the same time to pull weeds and plant seeds. regards moon
Well Ive had 4 lady bug houses for 2 trees, and yet my trees get infected. Maybe its because maxis wanted to make it seem more real? Whereby there's a possibility of tress being infected even with the trees around
i dont think that it's 100% guaranteed, but i know for a fact that the possibility of your tree/plant attracting bugs will greatly decrease. hope it helped
You will still get bugs with trees, but not as many with ladybugs. However plants in greenhouse get no bugs 100% garanteed
I get everyone in the family to get gold gardening badges. It was funny the other day I called the gardening club. When she arrived, I hadn't realized that I forgot to join. Lol. So I asked for membership and they came to inspect the garden. After They inspected the garden, They reply-ed That I should have contacted them earlier and gave me a wishing well straight away plus 2000 simolians. LOL regards moon

LOL Congrats on getting the well so easily. I hope mine can get one eventually. I've finally got a Sim up to silver badge level in gardening and she managed to join the garden club, although they said that she needed to increase the size of the garden. So she's not doing too bad, but I think it'll be a loooooong time before she gets anything else from the garden club. Hehehe! She hates being in the greenhouse too. Any advice on how to up the environment in there?? I have a nice path going around the garden inside it and there are flowers in there as well as veges. I've also got lights as well as heat lamps (not sure I need the heat lamps though). She just seems to want to drown herself in the lake everytime she goes in there. She HATES it. Cass.
Hi cass. The heat lamps definitely work. especially winter. I also rotate crops. eg When I harvest, I refertilize and replace the vegi with a different crop. I have a row for every vegi. I think 18 squares or more. I have lot of sculpture around the yard as well as trees. Around each tree I put a flowerbed.And every day the sim with the most energy does the gardening or many sims at same time. One will be planting one might rake leaves and one to compost the leaves. Its a busy household. lol. Never call the gardening club in Autumn. They will complain about the leaves. regards moon
