Thunder and Rain Here's something else I found and I posted it here because it should be used only for movie making--you can't save the game. I searched for weather and found that ModTheSims2.com was asking for testers for "Buyable lightening bolts and oddities." Do a search for weather in that site and you get the thread and the downloadable package. The site explains how to unzip it. They warn you to back up files, which I did, and not to save the game because you can't stop the rain (another song?) If you read all the posts to the thread by people testing the package you get the idea. For my movie scene I set everything up, got the rain started through the "buy" mode and did the filming. I exited the game unsaved and went back in again to film the scene again three or four times until I was happy with the angle of the shot. But the rain worked fantastic. I always got out of the game without saving it. My video clip was just of the feet of my private detective hero walking down the city sidewalk at night. I added the sound effect of thunder and rain that can be found free on the internet. So neat. It's my favorite scene. Screen shot attached.
It does. Wish you could see it. You tried once, I think, but could only hear the music, not see the picture. I need to re-do the compression but am trying to finish up Chapter 4 (which has the crowd scenes.) One funny observation about the rain. It rains indoors, too. Which is why I had to refilm the scene--find a camera angle where you couldn't see the rain on the bar floor when he opened the door. Also, Sims don't like the rain. They start to run.
