Not spam, seriously this is what happened today after i got sent 3 count them, 3 AOL discs in one day. In the last 2 weeks i've accumulated 12 AOL discs, no bull****. I get them in the mail, there was one included inside a game case, 2 with the paper, when i bought Metroid Prime the guys at the store (who i know, and they know i hate aol) threw in a disc into the bag. There was even one from when my mum when food shopping! o_O

I get so pissed off and today i thought, "i have enough coasters, i've propped up all the tables and chairs, i got bored of frisby....BURNINATION!!!"

So do you get annoyed with the AOL discs? what do you do?

At the moment, we only get one every once in a while. We had aol at one time and it took Bruce an hour on the phone for him to get them to cancell it. They were so pushy trying to get him to keep it, it was unreal.

*thinks the burning of the cd's is a good idea*

Hey, theres some guys in like Cali or somewhere collecting AOL cd's. . .and once they get a million of them I think they're bringing them to the AOL company and showing them how wasteful they're being. Wooo!! Lol if I could rememeber the addy I could tell ya where you can send your cd's to help em out.

i already have enough coasters, and an oddly shaped mirror........propped up my table with em. Needed something else to do other than play frisby.

They send way too much of those CDs O_o...
So I usually just shoot them, hit them with baseball bats or anything else I have :D.

I'm on aol. Does that mean I should destroy the disc I have?
They are quite good - at least I think so.

Surely all the web or service providers are the same, aen't they? aol are no diffierent from any of the others and as for the recent news, it seems that everyone is after what they personally can get out of it.
I told my brother-in-law recently that he couldn't take it with him, and he said if that is the case then he is not going.

wha? AOL are actually loosing money fast becuase more people are realising that there are better ISP's out their, and cheaper...a lot cheaper.

I pay 14.99 without any sales tax or v.a.t. for an unlimited amount of time on line whenever I want to go online. That competes quite well with the other providers over here. British Telecom (ie the nationalised concern) also have a service at 14.99 (or perhaps a pound cheaper) but they cut you off when they think you have been on quite long enough. aol don't do that. Mind you, they do cut you off if they think that you have gone out, or taken the dogs for a 10 mile walk, or something. They call it being inactive for too long a period. It means, effectively, that I can never download a demonstration of any kind, nor any very big file unless I am prepared to play silly game with my computer.
That will all change when we have broadband here but at the rate it is approaching us I am afraid that I shall have to be a ghost to try it.

Plus they give you such a stupid browser, and those keyword things are gay. And don't forget those SPAM discs they send you.

AOL was aweful for me. It would not download large sim items at all, so no canopy beds or anything else that was large, it would always corrupt the file because it was too big. Also can't use the sims exchange with aol, have to use internet explorer.

Your criticism is negative. Tell me which is the best server.

Do you work for AOL by any chance?

I had it once, I got a disc in the mail, it was horrible. It was slow and incompatible with lots of things. Whenever I get new discs now, I put them in them in the street and watch cars run over them.

I don't work.... (full stop). I am too (***) old!!! Now are you able to answer the question?
I think the only trouble I have in this country arises from the fact that the national telephone network also has its server arm but it owns all the cables that carry telephone calls. It hates aol and whenever you go on aol you are immediately timed out. My modem has to make two calls before it gets through.
All I want to know is what is the best server. I cannot find any fault with aol because I never contact them. I have no need to do so - surely it is the same with any server, isn't it?
