Two bothersome issues Hi all, hopefully someone here can help me sort out these two probs i have (even though one of them is more of a malfunction than an actual problem). 1) I can no longer exit my lot, and return to it without crashing the game. This applies to community lot visits and also exits to the neighbourhood screen and back. It really bothers me in a way. 2) I happen to have downloaded a couple of sets of brows, lipsticks, bangs and makeup from ModtheSims2. However, whenever i change the appearance of a particular sim using the mirrors, her appearance would almost never update--even if it does, it would be after a long time, like say after i have exited the game a couple of times or more. Another sim in the house doesnt seem to have problems with updating her looks and makeup--but then, they aren't using the same touch-ups, eyeliners and all, depending on how i want the characters customized. Any kinds of help and answers are very much appreciated! Thank you!
1. You have a buggy lot. I assume it's just one lot? I'm afraid the only cure is to move your sims out and bulldoze it under. I had a house freeze once. The sims just sat on the couch and wouldn't move no matter what I tried. When I moved them to a new lot it stopped. 2. Since I started downloading stuff like a madwoman I've had some problems with "change appearance" too, but it's a minor inconvenience compared to the cool stuff I got in return. What I do is change their appearance again and then change it back to what I really wanted and click accept. That usually works. I even had a kid age and her picture still showed her as a toddler for a few minutes. When I changed her hairstyle it updated the picture.
Hi, thanks for your response! As for my first problem, the problem doesn't lie with playing on the lot itself, the crash only happens when i re-enter the lot like say, from a shopping trip downtown or merely from the neighbourhood screen. It sucks, yes...it's not much of a problem since that's the ONLY lot i play with, but it does make you uncomfortable knowing that the crashing is bound to happen should you need to go to the neighbourhood screen or shopping for that matter. Sigh.. Bulldoze the lot?! Any other less destructive suggestion? T_T As for the second problem, yeah it did update her looks after a couple more "Change Appearance" actions with the mirror..whew. It really annoys you when they upgrade only in stages like first, with the sim's own face, then on the face-cursor (the head that pops up when you click somewhere for actions), and then on the Lot's family photo, and FINALLY on the particular Sim's profile on the lot (the profile that appears with each active sim).
Sorry, no, no less destructive suggestions. I haven't found any yet, unfortunately. Anyone else? Ah, the little annoyances of the Sims. Much like life sometimes.
