User creations pink?! All the families and houses I create or save turn pink. This doesn't seem to be a graphic problem, does anyone know what else it could be?
If Im not wrong, maybe your "graphic card" is not compatible? My sister had that problem too. Just that instead of turning "pink" they we're all green! and the reason? because her graphic card was as old as I am *blows away dust from sister's graphic card*. Well basicly it was her graphic card which was preety old. Now that she gotten the latest one, she has no problems with it anymore. Are you using a brand new/quite new graphic card?
Jacinda doesn't say if this effect is just on the neighborhood screen. If it is then maybe she can live with it as I agree that it sounds like a graphics card issue. The lots are supposed to change color when you hover the mouse over them ('pink/red for occupied lots and green for vacant lots ... obviously if the dispay card is being overworked things can go wrong ....
The graphics card is only a few months oldand its compatible with what Maxis says... It happens on the neighbourhood screen, in the house screen the square to select a sim is pink, the freinds list is pink and the when you try take a screen shot or vieo they are pink... For game play they are ok... jus everyting else they are pink. Example
Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed on your computer, and it would also be a good idea to go to the manufacturer of your video card's website and download the latest drivers. If that doesn't work, maybe try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
I've tryed everything like that - I'm just giving up on trying to fix it and going to get a new computer - this is just above the minium requirements for the game and seeing as I play the game ALOT, I need to upgrade.
The automatically-installed XP drivers for the Radeon 9800 graphics card I have majorally screwed up the graphics for Sims 2 and SC4. I had to reinstall the old drivers that came with the card overtop of the newer ones. Just a thought, not sure if all the Radeons running on XP are like that.
